3 Cheese Tomato Garlic Bread Recipe

October 4, 2016 by Shelly

3 Cheese Tomato Garlic Bread RecipeHow many of you enjoy eating Texas Toast? We love it! However, we do get bored with eating it the same old way all of the time. For the past few weeks, we’ve been experimenting with adding our own toppings to Texas Toast. If you’ve never tried it before, you can find it in the frozen section at most large grocery stores. The great thing about it is that it has the “garlic” already in it, so I don’t have to mess with mincing or mashing garlic.

Last week we decided to add a few toppings and came up with our own recipe and the family gobbled it down in rapid fashion. I served it alongside some homemade lasagna that I had made.

Variation: If you have fresh green bell pepper on-hand, slice it up and toss it on with the tomato slices. Just make sure you slice up your bell pepper thinly and into strips, so that it softens during the baking time.

3 Cheese Tomato Garlic Bread Recipe

1 Box Texas Toast (frozen)
1/8 cup Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
1/8 cup Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
1/8 cup Italian Cheese Blend, Shredded
2 Medium Sized or 1 Large Tomato

Slice up the tomato and place one or two slices on each piece of the garlic bread. In a small bowl combine together all three of the shredded cheeses. Sprinkle shredded cheese onto each slice of bread, reserving just a little bit for the topping later on.

Preheat the oven and bake according to package directions. Remove 1-2 minutes before the recommended time and toss the remaining shredded cheese on top. Place back into the oven and finish baking for an addition 1-2 minutes. Remove and let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. YUMMY GOOD!

It’s been ages since I’ve had Texas Toast. What a great idea, to add fresh veggies and cheese to personalize it and dress it up a bit! I like it as a side with a bowl of soup, and your version with tomato and cheese on top would be perfect. As always, thanks for another great idea.

Oh, I would love this! I don’t know why I never even thought of putting a tomato slice on Garlic bread! It seems like such a natural fit!

I have never seen gluten free Texas Toast but I’m sure they make something similar, or you could use most any gluten free bread as a base. Some of them though are pretty holey, lol, like I’ve seen with Udi’s, and would not make a sturdy base. I’m one to add a ton of veggies to this and yes to both green and red pepper to make it more colorful.

Where’s the garlic? Does it come on the Texas toast? I want lots of garlic.

She said the garlic was in the bread already. I love it too and would add more!

You had a similar recipe on SNB, but here you added cheddar cheese toit and the more cheese the better for this family. WE love cheddar cheese.
