Family Movie Night: The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today

September 24, 2016 by Shelly

swan-princess-treasure-movie-boxMy 7 year old granddaughter is into everything and anything related to a Princess. She’s been wearing princess costumes, watching princess-related movies and playing with royal toys since the ripe age of two. Yup, she’s a total girl and 100% in-love with anything to do with a Princess.

We were asked to hold a family movie night to watch the new DVD release “The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today“. The sponsor of our family movie night sent us a treasure box full of movie watching goodies, that included:

A copy of the DVD
Princess Tiara
Eye patch
Branded Swan Princess puzzle in a bottle
DIY decorate your own telescope

The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today

Movie Synopsis: In the brand new original animated film, Princess Alise is training to be the perfect royal but in her heart all she wants to do is sail the seven seas as a swashbuckling pirate! After setting sail, Princess Alise is shipwrecked and washes ashore on an island where she meets Lucas, a young boy who has been living there by herself. They have to work together to survive and get back to civilization!

Our Thoughts: We sat down to watch this movie with our 7 year old granddaughter and she was super excited to see it. Part of her excitement was due to opening up the treasure box and finding the goodies inside. I popped the popcorn, prepared our beverages and we were enjoying the new movie.

The first thing I want to say about the movie is that the story line is fantastic! Let’s face it, we’re all getting tired of the same “type” of princess story lines being spun & told over and over again. It’s really refreshing to see a new movie with an entirely different story line and adorable characters that really draw you in.

For the entire movie…our little Princess barely moved an inch! She was totally into the movie and it was really nice to see her laugh during certain parts of the film. We love everything about this one from the entertaining story line to the adorable characters! It’s really a top-notch film that should be added to your little girl’s movie library.

What a fun box of goodies to have while watching the movie. She looks very regal in her tiara. Nice to have those special moments with our grandchildren.

Aye matey, Pirates are more fun than princessing. But it’s fun to have both.

This sounds like a great film for little girls to watch. The princess box was a wonderful touch.

This sounds like such a fun night and that box is full of some great princess stuff. We haven’t seen the movie yet but we sure will. I loved everything princess when I was a little girl too.

This is sooo cute! I can’t help but smile, I can only imagine how much fun and excitement! How clever to have the telescope to decorate, too. And you made it even better with making popcorn and beverages.
