Orange Creamsicle Milkshake Recipe

September 20, 2016 by Shelly

Lindy's Homemade Italian IceHow many of you are fans of Italian Ice? I can remember eating Italian Ice by the bucketfuls as a kid and even now as an adult, I still enjoy it. Especially any Italian Ice in flavors of Root Beer, Mango, Watermelon or Orange. YUMMY!

Recently I was introduced to Lindy’s Italian Ice and wow, I’m so glad that I’ve now tried this brand. Since we’ve tried it, we purchased several packages of it and my family just loves it. All of Lindy’s Homemade Italian Ice is made in small batches and has that texture that you’ve grown to love. It’s available in traditional flavors & in exciting flavor combinations. It’s gluten-free, fat-free and each serving is around 100 calories.

We received two complimentary packages of this frozen treat and let me tell you, it’s delicious! One of our favorites is the root beer which we eat just from the cup. When it comes to the orange flavor, we love to mix it up into what we call a homemade Orange Creamsicle Milkshake. The recipe is below.

Orange Creamsicle Milkshake Recipe

Orange Creamsicle Milkshake Recipe

2 six-ounce cups of Lindy’s Orange Italian Ice
3 cups Vanilla Bean ice cream
1/4 cup cold milk
1/4 cup of ice cubes

Place all ingredients into your blend and blend for 10-15 seconds or until its the desired consistency. If you get it too runny, place the blender container into the freezer for 10-15 minutes to firm it up. If it’s too thick for you, blend longer or add additional milk. Serve immediately.

Optional: My granddaughter and godson love these milkshakes with a dollop of frozen whipped cream (partially thawed) on top.

You can learn more about Lindy’s Italian Ice by visiting their website. Plus, they have a recipe section with delicious recipes for smoothies, cocktail drinks, mocktails and other frozen treats.

Homemade Root Beer Float Milkshake

Variation: Love Root Beer Floats? You can blend together 2 cups of Lindy’s Root Beer Italian Ice with 2 cups of cold milk, 3 cups of Vanilla Bean ice cream and some ice cubes…just like the recipe above. Oh my gosh, sooooo good!

I have never had Italian ice and since giving up sugar that can cause issues with my gut, I probably won’t but I bet the kids really love these. Milkshakes are expensive and this is a fun way for them to make their own. As a kid, I loved my root beer floats at A&W, so they do look good.

I have never tried Lindy’s Italian Ices , but I have eaten other italian Ices. I like that they have no fat. This recipe sounds delicious because it recreates the orange creamsicle in a milkshake form.

I have to see where they sell that Italian Ice because now I want to make this. Creamsicle first, then the rootbeer.

I have had Italian Ice a few times but that was so many years ago I can’t even remember how it tastes. I sure do love creamsicle flavor so I know I would just love this milkshake. We are still having hot weather here so there is still time to enjoy this recipe in the sun thanks for sharing and have a nice day.
