Time for another Fun Frugal Finds post for this week! I love hunting down bargains & deals, especially ones that help feed my family. My grandchildren, nieces & nephews are always over at our home and always want snacks to eat! I try to stock up when I can.
I went down to Lancaster Pennsylvania which is full of hundreds of different outlet stores. There are 2 super large outlet malls down there and one is called the Rockvale Outlets and the other one is called Tanger Outlets. They sit only a few miles a part.
There is a Pepperidge Farm outlet store down there and you can get all kinds of their products at huge discounts! I got loaves of bread for $1.00, 2 bags of bagels for $1.00 each and then I stocked up on their gold fish crackers and pretzel thins which cost me $1.25 per package! They’re usually $2.49 to $3.29 a piece at our local grocery store, so that’s a huge savings! They’re all still in-date and nothing wrong with them! I got 8 packages of the gold fish and 4 packages of the pretzel thins.
I then hit another outlet store down there (can’t remember the name) but it’s an outlet food store for dry goods.
At this particular store I ran into a HUGE deal on Little Debbie snacks. At our local grocery store these same exact snacks cost $1.79 to $1.99 per package. I hit this store at the perfect time and got each package for only .75 cents each! Yup, you read that right! They’re all in-date and nothing wrong with them!
I stocked up for myself, my daughter and my mother. I got a total of 8 pkgs. of the Zebra Brownies, 8 pkgs. of the Devil Squares (their frosted & filled with creamy filling in chocolate) and 8 boxes of the fudge rounds. For 23 boxes of Little Debbie Snacks, I paid $18.00. If I would of purchased those same 8 boxes at my local grocery store I would of paid $42.96. Basically, I got them for 65% off retail price! Wow!
I’ll definitely be hitting up those two outlets again the next time we visit the outlet malls down in Lancaster Pennsylvania.
Have you picked up any good bargains or deals lately? If so, tell me about them! Let’s all be frugal and thrifty together!

I haven’t been to an outlet store in years. I do know where a couple are, but just haven’t gone.
Pepperidge farms has some of my favorite products so I wish there was an outlet store near me. I didn’t even know that they had outlet stores for Pepperidge farms so I am going to see if I can find where the nearest one to me is. I especially like their bread and could eat a box of the pretzel thins in one setting.
We used to have a pepperidge farm outlet in our town. Went out of business and I miss it a lot.
Long ago, when I lived in New York State, a Pepperidge Farm outlet opened in a nearby city, and I loved it–so many great products at a great discount. Now I go to an outlet that carries Entenmann’s, Freihofffer’s, and other baked goods brands. It’s about an hour away, but I happened to stop by last week when they were running a special, 89 cents each for all bread, English muffins, rolls, and other similar products. I got a nice loaf of rye, two packages of Thomas’s English muffins, hot dog rolls, corn toaster cakes, and a loaf of banana swirl bread, all for five dollars and change. Great score!
We go through Little Debbie’s like crazy, so I wish I could find a deal like that! In the town I lived in before this one, there was what everyone called ‘The Bread Store’–it was really a store operated by Kern’s bread & it sold all their breads, Hostess goodies, etc., at half price. This was because, even though they were not out of date, they were close enough that they wouldn’t sell on a grocery shelf. When they got to one day from the sell by date, they would go on a special table & mark them down 75%. I loved that store, lol.
I forgot to say above that our kroger has the goldfish this week buy 4 @99 cents each and get 1 additional free. Indiana is just cheaper on groceries I guess. I would love to see a giveaway of a big box of any mix of these items. 🙂
It is strange how prices differ so much from state to state on these products. I buy little debbie zebra cakes every week at my local kroger for 99 cents a box. They are never on sale more than that so I am always happy with that price. I am glad you stocked up. I love to see people do that! You know, I have even froze those before and they were perfectly fresh upon thawing them. I have to do this every year because my son has an addiction for their Christmas tree snack cakes which are around about a month. I stock up a six month’s supply for him every year and freeze them.
I wish I had more outlet stores near me. I managed to find 3 bags of Mars candy fun size for $3.31. I have not recently visited any thrift shops for other items.
