The early morning hours before school starts is one of the busiest’s time of the day for my family. Everyone has to get up out of bed, bathe, get dressed, eat, brush their teeth and grab all of their belonging’s & supplies for the day. In our home, everyone has less than 90 minutes to get all of that completed.
During those busy weekday mornings, I look for quick and easy breakfast ideas. While I don’t let my family eat breakfast cereals every day, I do allow them to enjoy it 3 mornings a week along with some fresh fruit and juice.
Recently we had the opportunity to try out three flavors of Barbaras Puffins Cereal. We received:
Puffins Cereal – Original
Puffins Cereal – Pumpkin (Limited Edition)
Puffins Cereal – Peanut Butter Chocolate
One of the things that really impressed me with these breakfast cereals is that they are NON GMO Verified, are low in fat, a great source of fiber and are lower in sugar than most traditional brands of cereal. These are vegan cereals that are delicious!
I admit, we’ve tried the Original and the Peanut Butter Chocolate flavors before and already love them. Matter of fact, I buy both of those cereals pretty often when I’m at the store.
This time around the family was pretty excited to give the Pumpkin limited-edition Puffins cereal a try since we’ve never had that one before. This one is made with real pumpkin and has only 5g of sugar per serving. It’s gluten free and made with pure oats.
Well, I’m happy to report to all of you that the entire family loves the limited-edition Pumpkin Puffins Cereal! It has a really nice pumpkin flavor to it, but it’s not over-powering at all. It’s a little bit sweet, but not overly-so. One of the things we love about Barbaras Puffins brand of cereal (besides the taste) is that the cereal is never soggy within 2-3 minutes. You get a nice crunchy cereal that is full of flavor. YUMMY GOOD!

I haven’t tried this brand yet, but I must have the Pumpkin and feel like running to the store right now and having this for dinner!!! It looks soo good! Would be a good snack to take with you, too.
I have never heard of this brand before. I love there is aa pumpkin flavor- that would be good all year! I love pumpkin, and would want to stock up on it. The other flavors look good too. I bet you could even use these crushed in recipes!
I have heard of Barbara’s Cereals & they sound great. I’d like to try that Peanut Butter & Chocolate, but no pumpkin, lol. Fall is hard for those of us who just don’t like pumpkin, lolol.
I used to buy Barbara’s cereals all the time at Vitamin Cottage in Denver but honestly don’t eat the cold cereals much any more. It’s better than the donuts and pop tarts kids have for breakfast, that’s for sure.
It is very handy to be able to purchase good cereals on Amazon. Barbaras is a great brand that tastes good too.
