Did you know that urinary tract infections are the second most common type of infection in the body, accounting for about 8.1 million visits to health care providers each year? I didn’t know that, but I do now!
To help play defense when those dreaded UTI symptoms strike, AZO has released New AZO Urinary Tract Defense, which has the only antibacterial ingredient available without a prescription to help slow down the progression of a UTI. This one medication helps control the infection (until you can get in to see a doctor & receive medical care) and it includes a general pain reliever. It’s NOT intended to replace medical care.
Last year I shared with all of my readers my chronic UTI history. Not only do I get a lot of UTI’s every year, I also get kidney stones and kidney infections. If you ever had one, you already know how miserable these types of infections are! Trust me, they’re not pleasant!
I was sent a complimentary package of AZO to try out for all of you when my next infection occurred. Well, 2 weeks ago it reared it’s ugly head late on a Friday night. I knew immediately that I had a UTI starting up and I knew I couldn’t get in to see my doctor until Monday afternoon.
I immediately started taking AZO at the recommended adult dose of 2 tablets, three times a day with a full glass of water. The tablets are pretty small and very easy to swallow. Within a 2-3 hours I noticed the frequency, urgency and burning had decreased. It didn’t go away but it definitely was a lot more bearable! As I continued to take the medication, it got more tolerable.
When Monday afternoon rolled around, I went in to see my doctor and she tested my urine. Yup, I had another UTI. She prescribed me antibiotics and I went on my way.
I feel that AZO really helped me until I could get in to see my doctor. In addition, I feel it slowed down the progression of the infection because usually I get worse pretty quickly. I think it’s a great product and I’ll be keeping it on-hand for when the next infection rolls around. I’m giving it a big 2-thumbs up!

I got my very first UTI a few months ago and had no clue what it was. I also went into the Dr and got antibiotics. I am going to have to give AZO a try if it happens again, I am glad the pills are small, that helps. It is good there is some relief available since UTI’s are very common.
I didn’t realized that there was an over the counter medicine for UTI’s. I also get these urinary tract infections I get them every few months or so. Thank you for this very helpful review. I will buy AZO to have on hand to take until I can get to my Dr. to give me an antibiotic.
This does sound like a great product to help people with rinaryinfectons or irritations. It certainly is good to take until one can see the doctor to diagnose the problem.
