David Dunleavy Wall Murals in North Wildwood

David Dunleavy Wall Murals in North Wildwood

David Dunleavy Wildwood Dolphin Wall MuralAs you all know, I love anything and everything that has to do with the Atlantic Ocean. I’m a pure coastal & beach girl and I’m fortunate enough that I only live a 3 1/2 hour car ride from the Atlantic Ocean in North Wildwood New Jersey. Matter of fact, we visit there several times every year.

As a coastal girl, I absolutely love the ocean & sea art by artist David Dunleavy. He painted some beautiful wall murals (street art) at the Jersey Shore and the photos that I’m featuring today are located in North Wildwood.

This beautiful wall mural is a LOT prettier in person. They were doing some construction & beach replenishing while I was there, so the restroom and area was roped off. Oh yeah, these murals are painted on the sides of a public restroom building that sits right along the beach!

I was told that the public restroom building once had all four sides painted, but the past few years, I’ve only seen three of the four sides like this. There is a different design on three of the sides and the fourth side is now a plain solid color. Sigh.

Out of the three murals painted on that one small building, my favorite is the mother and baby bottlenose dolphins. (first photo) David Dunleavy paints these murals to help raise awareness for endangered sea animals and to help promote conservation.

To date, I’ve had the pleasure to view over 21+ wall murals that artist David Dunleavy has done in Pennsylvania & New Jersey. Every time we travel around, I’m looking for them and hopefully some day, I’ll be able to see them all.

How many of you enjoy coastal art? What about outdoor wall murals and street art?

Slammers Super Food Snacks is the Perfect Organic Treat for Kids

Slammers Super Food Snacks is the Perfect Organic Treat for Kids

Slammers Super Food Snacks for KidsIt’s that time of year again—bring on the school supplies, backpacks and lunchboxes—it’s time to send our little ones (and our not so little ones) off to school again. My son is going into 6th grade and still prefers to take a packed lunch. I’m constantly trying to find new and healthy items to pack in his lunchbox. I was recently introduced to Slammers Super Food Snacks by Kids Gourmet, which is a fun, organic, compact snack packed with healthy fruits, vegetables and vitamins.

The founders of Kids Gourmet created these on-the-go snacks with not only active kids in mind, but busy parents as well. As I mentioned above, this snack is great for lunches, but it’s also perfect for refueling after sports or after a long day at school. It gives kids the right nutrition to power them up for their homework, which always seems to be a lot! I am continually floored by how much homework an 11 year old kid has. Something else to note–these snacks are also wonderful for kids with braces, which is something I look for now when I’m buying snacks for my son. We have already broken a wire on an apple. Whoops.

Slammer Super Food Snacks are creamy, fruity and packed with superfoods. Several of the Slammer snacks (the SuperFood Smoothie variety) are loaded with protein, which is vital for growing and maintaining muscles, organs, bones and the immune system, which is what kids’ bodies need to thrive.

The flavor combinations of the Slammer SuperFood Snacks are really unique with a mix of many kinds of fruits and vegetables. These snacks are made with ingredients that come from certified organic farms, contain no added sugar and no artificial ingredients. They also taste really great. We received five different flavors of the snacks and I have to say, they all are pretty darn tasty!

Slammers Snacks for Children

We tried the following:

Chill’n – this one has bananas, blueberries, butternut squash, greek yogurt and yumberry (which looks like a raspberry with a sweet-sour flavor). This was our favorite of the bunch.

Awesome – this pouch contains bananas, blueberries, strawberries, beets, acai and amaranth. This was our least favorite of the bunch.

Creamy Chocolate Banana SuperFood Smoothie – this creamy concoction contains banana, coconut cream, grape, sweet potato and cocoa powder and provides 7 grams of protein. This one is great for satisfying the sweet tooth craving!

Pomegranate Grape Crush! SuperFood Smoothie – with grape, pomegranate, coconut, apple, banana and purple carrot, this mixture if full of sweetness and Vitamin C. In addition, this one also packs 7 grams of protein.

Watermelon Kiwi Burst! SuperFood Smoothie – Another high protein treat with strawberries, kiwi, watermelon, apple, banana and beet. A unique combination that really provides a bold burst of flavor.

There are a few other varieties that are available that you can check out on the Slammers website and you can purchase Slammers at a variety of grocery stores throughout the country with the website’s store locator.
