Time for another Fun Frugal Finds post here on The Classy Chics blog! I had wanted to get this post up 3 weeks ago, but was too busy to get it done. Sigh, sorry! We’ve been so busy this summer!
Back in July I needed to pick up some semi-dressy clothing items for a vacation that we were going on. I had lined up some things for us to do while there and I couldn’t wear casual shorts, mini skirts, capri’s, tanks, etc. for those activities. I needed dressy or semi-dressy fashions.
Since I don’t typically get dressed up too often, I knew that I didn’t want to spend a lot of money buying 3 new outfits, so I headed to my local Gabriel’s department store. It used to be called Gabriel Brothers, but now they’ve shortened their name. It was the first time I’ve been in their store for many years.
Anyway, I wasn’t expecting much, but to my pleasant surprise, I did find five items that were PERFECT for our trip! Better yet, I got all 5 of those items for ONLY $33.00 which is a deal! Let me tell you what I got.
I got a new swimsuit cover-up that has a beach theme on the front of it that is accented with small rhinestones. It’s so much prettier in person than what my stinky photo shows. I love that it has a shark-bite hem and 2 front pockets. This item originally sold for $25.99.
I then found this pretty green and ombre short-sleeved sweater with a hi-low hem. It’s done in a light-weight knit fabrication making it the perfect weight for summer fashions. It has green and gray ombre colors running through it. This item originally sold for $39.99. (top photo it looks teal but trust me, it’s a pretty forest green color).
I like to wear skirts, but only if they’re maxi skirts! I’m getting way too old to be running around in mini’s or above-the-knee skirts, so I like having a lot of leg coverage. Maxi skirts are HOT HOT HOT right now and they’re super comfortable to wear.
I found three maxi skirts with the comfortable yoga-style waistband which I absolutely LOVE! I got one in a solid heather gray color, one in a gray & black striped color/pattern and one in dark solid olive green color. I can wear all three of these maxi skirts now and they will be perfect in the fall worn with some boots! Each of these skirts were originally priced $29.99.
All 5 of these fashion items were brand new with original store tags on them! I can’t believe I got all five pieces for $33.00. I would of paid almost that for one of the maxi skirts if I had went to that specific retailer’s store! (Express). Now that’s what I call bargain shopping for some new fashions!

Wow! Nicely done, and pretty pieces for your wardrobe, too. I’m sure you’ll get a lot of use from all of them. Bargain shopping is an art, isn’t it? It’s not so much getting things cheap, it’s getting *good* things cheap. And you sure did that!
I am very impressed that you were able to buy all 5 pieces for only $33.00. I usually can only get that type of deal at a thrift shop, although sometimes I find some good bargains at JCP. Unfortunately Gabriel Brothers stores are not found near me.
I had to read that sentence twice I can’t believe that you got all five pieces for only $33.00. Now that is my kind of bargain shopping. I really like the first top and I sure could use a new skirt like that one. I had never heard of a shark-bite hem I am so behind in the fashion world.
Oh Heather, go out and get yourself one or two shark bite hem tops…they are so figure flattering. I think they’re even more figure flattering than the high-low trend.
Nice finds! I never understand people who want you to believe they paid a lot for something, lol. I want to tell others how cheaply I got things!! (Of course, I don’t want them to look cheap, ha!)

Wow! I’m impressed with your findings. Lovely colors and fabrics. Had to go look up the store: Gabriel Brothers stores are located in Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Long way from Colorado.
I’ve been back to Gabriel Brothers 3 more times. I got a new area rug for only $15.00 for our game room, 2 sets of name brand women’s pajamas for $8.00 per set (regularly $61.00 per set) and a few new school clothes for the Princess. I’m liking that store more & more with every visit.
