Well, summer will be winding down soon and we’ve already been busy getting things together for the Princess to go back-to-school. In just 2 1/2 weeks, she’ll be starting second grade! Oh my gee, I feel so old!
Anyway, we went out shopping and were looking around for some school clothes. We hit about 5 stores and are almost done with her back-to-school shopping. I needed to stop into Family Dollar to pick up some cleaning products and low & behold…I stumbled upon a HUGE clearance sale on kid’s clothing!
Check out these deals that I got at Family Dollar!
They had about 10 racks of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing marked down to 50% off and then you got another 25% off that clearance price. So, basically you got 75% OFF the original price tag.
(1) Girl’s Purple Monster High T-Shirt
(1) Girl’s Pink Long-Sleeved Tee with Gray Trim
(1) Girl’s Light Pink Long-Sleeved Tee with Floral Print
(1) Boy’s Grey Striped Long-Sleeved T-Shirt
(1) Boy’s Fleece Car-Print Footed Pajamas
So guess how much I paid for all five of those items? I got three items for the Princess and two items for our little Prince. In total, for all five items I paid $15.00. Yes, $3.00 each! Not only were these items inexpensive, surprisingly, they’re really nicely made! Usually when I run into Family Dollar, I don’t look at their kid’s clothes because I always thought they would be cheapo junk, well…I was wrong!
I did see 2-3 tops and 2 maxi skirts that I personally liked for myself and now I’m thinking about going back this weekend and grabbing those if they’re still there. They were marked down to $4.00 each and I should of grabbed them. Blah!
Update: I went back to Family Dollar yesterday (I wrote this post a few days ago, so adding this update) and I found a pair of girl’s black on black leopard print leggings marked down to $1.50. I snatched them up for the Princess too! They almost look like embossed faux leather pants if you ask me!
So, what kind of frugal deals & bargains did you snatch up in the past 2-3 weeks? Any great finds?

I need to get to a Family Dollar. These are fantastic sales and you were able to get nice clothes for your granddaughter.
Wow I had no idea that I could get deals like this at Family Dollar I am so going to check them out for back to school. I still remember going back to school shopping with my mom I loved it.
I did find some bargains online this week. I start shopping for Christmas really early, looking for good deals, lol.
When I need clothes (not very often), I usually get them at thrift stores. Earlier they were having a .99 sale on all their summer clothes.
Smart shopping! I always head for the clearnace rack.
There’s not a Family Dollar close to me but I did find at the 99 cent store, a 5 pack of girl’s white camisoles for $1.99. They don’t have many clothes but I regularly find Hanes camis and underwear (packaged) in either the XL girls or small women’s sizes. Both come in handy in the sweaty summer! Sometimes Walmart has the Hanes brand for very cheap, but not that cheap!
Family Dollar! It’s on the list. I hadn’t really thought about Family Dollar or even Dollar General for clothes shopping. We occasionally find something, but not like all of that. Wow and awesome for you! Maxi skirts, too, my daughter will be so happy. She has a couple and really wants more but is very money cautious. Thank you. Go get you some…of course, we will need pictures of you and the princess in your finds.
We’ve had school supply luck at Office Max. Each week they offer differ items for a$.01 with a $5. Thrift stores can be amazing, too. We have one called Savers that is good quality and has some great sales. Plus, my daughter loves it for cheap sleep clothes. They’re so soft and already “worn in”
