Several times every summer the entire family likes to get together to do some fun activities. Sure, like other families we hold the yearly family reunion, but we also take that one-step further by getting together to visit amusement parks, zoos, museums, etc. It’s just a great way for all of us to bond together and for all of the kids to play & build relationships with one another.
A couple of weeks ago we all got together and headed to Adventure Sports in Hershey Pennsylvania for an afternoon of family fun. Adventure Sports is an entertainment complex that offers miniature golf, bumper boats, go-karts, batting cages, a golf driving range, a playground for the kids, outdoor laser tag, etc.
It’s about an 8-10 minute drive out of downtown Hershey (yes, chocolate town) and once you’re there…you pay as you go. This means…you ONLY pay for the activities that you want to do…instead of one standard admission price. For some families, this keeps the outing reasonably priced, but for other families (larger ones) it can get expensive. With that said, it sure is a lot of fun!
We enjoyed playing their 18-hole mini golf course which is in a wooded area on the property. I loved that because on the day that we visited, it was 92 degrees outside, so we found plenty of shaded areas throughout the golf course. On top of that, this is one of the BEST miniature golf courses in south central Pennsylvania with gorgeous water features like: waterfalls, water fountains, man-made creeks, etc. It’s gorgeous!
After we were done playing mini golf, the entire family headed on down to the Go Kart racing track, so that we could race one another around the track. On the day that we were there, the race track wasn’t crowded at all and we had the entire course to ourselves for the 10-12 minutes that we were there. It’s a timed course, so you only get a certain amount of time to race around for a specific price. Sadly though, I didn’t win as usual, because all of the guys block-in the girls so that a guy always wins. Cheaters!
We then headed on over to the Bumper Boats which is my favorite thing to do when we visit Adventure Sports in Hershey, especially on 90+ degree days like the day when we were there. Anyway, the family got in their bumper boats and had a great time shoot the water guns at one another and it was a great way to cool off after roasting like peppers in the summertime heat. My 7 year old granddaughter absolutely LOVED driving around her own bumper boat and was pretty happy that she’s finally tall enough to do it! Yay!
After we had our fun with the outdoor activities we all headed inside to their little cafe to grab some ice cream and drinks. It sure did feel nice to finally get out of the heat and sit inside in some air conditioning for awhile. As I age…the high heat and I don’t do well together at all.
Anyway, we had a great time at Adventure Sports in Hershey and we all look forward to getting together again next summer and visiting again. How many of you regularly get together with family members to do fun activities like this? How many of you get together with the family at least once a year for a family reunion?
The Bumper boats would be my favorite activity too. It looks like there are many fun activities to do in the entire park at Hershey.
As a kid, I loved ‘putt-putt golf’ as we called it. We played that a lot, as a family. Those go-karts look fun, too.
My family would have so much fun there! Looks like a really fun mini golf facility!
This park looks like so much fun for the entire family. I so wished that we had something like this where we live. I has been so long since I have played miniature golf.
