Adult Coloring Books – The Newest Hobby for Grown-Ups

August 9, 2016 by Shelly

Stress Less Coloring Butterfly Gardens Adult Coloring BookOur lives are super busy and along with all of the craziness comes stress. During the evening hours (usually while I’m watching TV), I like to sit down with an adult coloring book and relax. There is something very relaxing about coloring a beautiful design in a book…not sure why I find it so relaxing, but millions of other people enjoy this hobby too!

Recently I was sent a complimentary copy of the Stress Less Coloring Butterfly Gardens adult coloring book which features 100+ coloring pages for peace & relaxation. All of these designs feature beautiful butterflies!

Synopsis: Stress Less Coloring Butterfly Gardens inspires you to find peace & relaxation in the beauty of butterflies. Coloring & shading any of these 100+ stunning illustrations of butterflies, flowers & foliage helps to calm your mind & let go of any tension you may be feeling. Featuring the amazing natural patterns of delicate wings resting among beautiful flowers & plants, each stress-reducing page invites you to express yourself using your own unique palette to decorate the designs. Soon, you’ll find yourself clearing all worries from your mind as you concentrate on coloring in these gorgeous patterns. Whether you’re new to art therapy or have been coloring for years, this book will help you find your inner calm and creativity, one page at a time.

I’ve featured MANY adult coloring books here on The Classy Chics blog over the past year and I have to say, these books are getting better & better. When they first hit the scene many of them featured juvenile-style patterns. Over the course of the year…I’ve seen them really evolve into works of art. I’m really excited to see this industry continue to grow and expand.

When I color in my adult coloring books, I primarily use gel pens with fine tips. I use a lot of glitter gel pens too. From time to time I will use colored pencils when that artistic side strikes me. If you’re new to this hobby, you can use colored pens, gel pens, markers, colored pencils, colored chalks, watercolor paints and all sorts of artist tools.

Once your designs have been completed, you can leave them in your books or remove them. You can turn them into framed pieces of wall art, use them in scrapbook & cardmaking designs, laminate large designs into placemats & small designs into refrigerator magnets, turn them into bookmarks by cutting designs into strips and all kinds of other things! You can really let your creativity run wild! Matter of fact, check out our CRAFTS section here on the blog to find some creative ideas on how to use your finished pages around the house or to give as gifts!

I have, I have. I like it because it actually does take my mind away for a bit, or if my kids are still awake, we have a small coloring session together and it helps to de-stress all of us.
