Things You Should Know About Boarding an Airline with a Stroller

July 11, 2016 by Carol

Tips for Boarding an Airliner with a Baby StrollerFor a new family, traveling together for the first time can be a very exciting experience. It can be a vacation or even just going to another state, to spend time with loved ones. There are a couple of things you will consider as you do your planning for the trip, especially if you plan to use an airline.

One of those main things is making sure that your new child is comfortable during the experience. This will definitely be a main concern because the child will be the newest member of the family and this is most probably the baby’s first time to travel.

A key thing you can have that will make the experience much easier is finding the best travel stroller for your infant. With the numerous kinds of strollers already available in the market, it is fundamental that you get the most recommended one for flight travel.

Additionally, it is very crucial that you are aware on the policies concerning strollers that your airline has outlined. It will not be a good situation for you to purchase a stroller that is not allowed on the plane that you are supposed to be boarding.

You can find out the rules and regulations concerning strollers, by consulting with your airline before you book a ticket. This will help you have an easy time on planning how you will travel to your destination with your family.

There are no standard regulations, and just because you know the rules of one airline, doesn’t mean the same rules apply to others. For example there are airlines that will allow you to take your stroller up to the door of the plane, there is when the attendants will relieve you of the appliance, and will bring it back to your possession the moment you land.

Moreover, there are other airlines that will allow you to pay only ten percent of what you paid for your own air ticket, to book for your infant’s ticket and carry luggage that is up to ten kilograms in weight free of charge. Here are some tips to take note of as you travel with a stroller;

* If you will require a stroller to move your young one around the airport before and after the flight, you should opt to go for a stroller that has a baby carrier feature. This will allow you to have your hands free and you can carry some hand luggage.

* In the case that you really need a stroller, you should purchase the smallest kind you can get. A big stroller will definitely give you a harder time in moving around the airport. Having a smaller stroller will also help you get through security checks easily with no problem. The ones that are collapsible will be most efficient for you.

Travelling with your young one should be an exciting and enjoyable experience. It is not necessary that you encounter problems of how to conveniently take your child to your destination. Let your young one experience the adventure that entails travelling.

    Airlines can make things difficult, but if you consult them in advance it will be much easier. These are good tips for a traveler.

    To be honest, I haven’t flown in over 20 years & one reason is I hate dealing with their rules & regulations over simple things. I don’t have to have a stroller, but I use a walker or cane & it would probably be an issue. I’d rather drive or take a boat, lol.
