How many of you are familiar with the construction building sets from K’nex? My granddaughter, god son, nieces and nephews have been playing with K’nex toys for many years. I have to admit, I’m personally a big fan of these construction building sets and have been buying them as birthday gifts and Christmas gifts for many years.
Recently we were given the opportunity to try out two of the new building sets from K’nex and today, I’m going to feature one of those sets right here on the blog. I’ll feature the second set for all of you next week.
The K’nex Turbo Jet 2-in-1 Building Set is for children ages 7 and up and requires 2AA batteries. This one set will build 2 different things: a Turbo Jet and a Turbo Helicopter. The battery-powered motor is included in the package, but you need to supply the batteries.
One of the things I’ve always loved about the K’nex building sets is that they allow young children to be creative. They can sit and build for hours, upon hours. Once they’ve built their creative piece, it can be played with too! They can take it apart and re-build the same thing or something completely new. If your child owns more than building set, they can mix-n-match the pieces and let their creative imaginations flow.
The building sets are fantastic for teaching hand-to-eye coordination, creativity, building skills, problem solving, etc. I love that each set comes packaged in a storage box which makes it easy for children to take with you when you travel or if they are going to grandma’s house.
Over 400 K’NEX rods & connectors are included. Your kids can build a jet with motorized, rolling wheels and an open-and-close cockpit! Once they’ve had fun with that, they can take it all apart and build a heli-plane with working, motorized propellers that you can adjust to spin vertically or horizontally. How cool is that? Totally cool.
My 7 year old granddaughter and 9 1/2 year old godson love playing with this K’nex construction building set! On some days they will play with it all on it’s own and on other days they will mix it in with other K’nex building sets that we already own. I love that this is one activity that both boys & girls can do and enjoy together!

I know kids this age start asking for more dangerous toys and this one is perfect. It has as so many interesting parts and building options, with only a few batteries to power them. Better and safer than those drones out now. These are great for those who loved the transformer toys.
My sons enjoyed K’nex sets and they would have loved to have this set. I like that you can mix it with other sets.
