I Heart Keenwah Dark Chocolate Puffs

July 4, 2016 by Sara

I Heart KeenwahI Heart Keenwah was started by two friends, Sarah and Ravi, in 2010. Ravi, an avid traveler and self-proclaimed foodie, loved quinoa so much that he traveled to Bolivia to learn more about the tiny, versatile seed. He became enamored with the idea of making ready-to-eat quinoa snacks, so he brought the idea back to his friend Sarah in Chicago. The two tinkered around in the kitchen until Quinoa Clusters were born. Crunchy, sweet, and as wholesome and natural as quinoa itself, this snack-able quinoa treat inspired a line of healthy products we’re proud to make. Their simple ingredients and surprising flavors are a fun way to “heart” you by the handful.

I Heart Keenwah Chocolate Puffs

I Heart Keenwah offers sweet Quinoa Clusters and savory Quinoa Puffs. Start with quinoa – the little seed that’s a naturally complete source of protein with all 9 essential amino acids – then finish it up with bold and foodie-worthy flavors that you’re not going to want to share. All Keenwah snacks are Gluten-Free Certified and Non-GMO Project Verified.

About I Heart Keenwah Chocolate Puffs

Keenwah’s Choclate Puffs are available in two flavors which just launched in retail stores in April 2016: Dark Chocolate Himalayan Pink Salt and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter: These quinoa puffs are a new spin on chocolate-covered snacks. Each puff is either enrobed in indulgent dark chocolate and sprinkled with lustrous Himalayan pink salt or enrobed in indulgent dark chocolate and creamy peanut butter for a perfectly balanced bite. At just 140 calories, 6g sugar and 3-4g of protein per serving, these quinoa snacks are the mindful munchie. These chocolate puffs are Organic Fair Trade Certified dark chocolate, gluten-free, kosher, and vegan, however they are manufactured in a facility that processes tree nuts, peanuts, soy, eggs and dairy.

Sara’s Thoughts

Never had quinoa in my life, but love love love these snacks. My favorite? Himalayan Pink Salt! This is the perfect snack for your chocolate cravings, and they are so rich and decadent that you only need to munch on a few to quench that craving. These are also great for kids: all they’re taste is chocolate and will have no idea that they are eating a healthier alternative snack. Now my picture on the left shows the actual size, however please disregard the look of the quinoa snack for it was delivered during a hot day while I was at work and they melted together. All I needed to do was put them in the refrigerator and they were good to go…so delicious! If you are health conscious or trying to have a better food life, then I would recommend these tasty bite-sized snacks. They are super delicious and very reasonable in price (about $4-$5) that can be purchased online at veganessentials.com. So order your quinoa snack today…you won’t be disappointed.

These really do look good. I like quinoa but have never seen it used in a snack food like this. I like that they are so rich in flavor but yet would help keep those calories down for those of us trying to shed a few pounds.

These look really good. I dont eat a bunch of choclate although hubby does. I like how these are smaller and just right for a nice taste. These would be great for so many things, I could see packing them for a roadtrip ir camping.

I’ve never had quinoa either, but one sure way to get me to try it is to put chocolate on it, lol. Seriously, I’d like to try these. They sound pretty good.

I’ve found ways to make quinoa that I love. I never noticed these before, but they sound sooo good. I think I have some Himalayan Pink Salt, but have been to scared to try it, in case I don’t like it then ruined something. I must try these, and my Himalayan Pink Salt on a spoonful of something.

I have eaten quinoa, but I did not like it. It must be because I did not cook it right. But this snack of quinoa with dark chocolate sounds delicious. I would love to try it.

I do eat quinoa but have not tried or heard of these. They remind me of malted milk balls but a healthier version. I’ll have to give them a try.
