Malpractices that Can Lead to Birth Injury
Professional providers are expected to know the complexities related to delivery processes, and that is why utmost care needs to be provided. There are some cases when doctors have ordered nurses to carry on with delivery instead of coming to deliver the baby themselves. The end result has been administration of wrong medication.
A large number of birth injuries are also caused by the mere fact that the staff at hand were tired and could not perform to their level best. In rare cases, birth injuries can occur out of blatant misconduct of professionals or because of a simple mis-comprehension. You can also hold a medical provider liable for birth injuries when:
• Medical practitioners fail to detect an umbilical cord that is wrapped around a baby’s neck.
• When there is unreasonable delay in performing an emergency Cesarean section.
• Failure to test and treat various conditions during pregnancy, or in simple terms misdiagnoses.
• Failure to recognize negative fetal signs.

It is horrible that these birth injuries do happen. It is important to be aware of what to do in case there is a problem. Thanks for all these information.
It is so unfortunate when this happens. I dont think a medical professional with any decency would do it intentionally, but things happen more than we know. They say hospital stays are actually very dangerous….. from falls to catching germs from unsterilized rooms. I myself fell after anesthesia when a nurse who was supposed to escort me to the restroom had a code blue happen. I fell and broke my hand when she let go, and the DR didnt even recognize a broken hand. I drove myself to the hospital the next day for an XRay.
I know someone who has a birth injury so I know this happens more often than people think. Thank you for all of this useful information. I learned a lot reading this post.
