Fruity, Chewy and Delicious Hi-Chew Candy
Originally called “chewlets” and developed by Taichiro Morinaga in 1956, Hi-Chews were created as an edible chewing gum, since removing food from one’s mouth in Japan is considered taboo. Hi-Chew has been crafted in over 170 different flavors over the years and since Hi-Chews induction to the US market, sales have increased over five times in the last five years, a testament to the “can’t-get-enough” chew candy. For a full timeline of Hi-Chews you can visit their website online.
Hi-Chew is offered in many different varieties:
• What could be better than a bagful of your favorite Hi-Chew flavor? How about a bag with all your favorite flavors in one? Like Hi-Chew exotic Tropical Mix or their classically flavorful Original Max.
• The perfect go anywhere, do anything 10 stick pack. It easily fits in your pocket or purse so you’ll always have your favorite flavor handy wherever you are.
• Pucker up and get ready for new Hi-Chew Sours. Their sensationally sour citrus mix flavors will elevate your Hi-Chew experience to a whole new level of sour.
• If you love Hi-Chew, you’re going to flip over new Hi-Chew Bites. All the goodness of regular Hi-Chew wrapped in a sweet candy shell. They come packed in a handy, resealable ouch, with two flavors per pouch.
Sara’s Thoughts:
I’m not a huge candy fan, but Hi-Chew is a very tasty and flavorful snack that is available in six different flavors: strawberry, mango, green apple, grape, cherry and banana. They’re the perfect snack for your sweet tooth cravings and can be easily transported wherever you go. The sticks are perfect for your back pocket or purse.
Unfortunately I’m not allowed to devour the deliciousness that is Hi-Chew due to my new diet, however I have a boyfriend and a step-son who can enjoy these juicy snacks…and boy do they. Conner, my step-son, loves how much they actually taste like fruit (and Conner is NOT a sweet snack fan), so you know this is definitely going to be kid-approved. Derek says that Hi-Chew has the consistency of a soft-chewy piece of candy or a piece of gum. “Its fruit flavors rival that of another well-known brand & style of candy,” and he loves that they come in a variety of flavors.
So if you are a fan of chewy, sweet snacks, then I would recommend stopping at your local grocery store to pick up a few of the Hi-Chew candies.
