MELT Organic Caramel Popcorn Recipe

July 21, 2016 by Shelly

Caramel Popcorn Recipe from MeltLooking for a light way to liven up your summer recipes? MELT Organic’s all-natural butter substitutes help maintain your healthy lifestyle without sacrificing taste.

Made with fair trade virgin coconut oil and other dairy-free, plant-based ingredients, MELT products were created for butter enthusiasts seeking a nutritious alternative. The line is certified USDA organic, Non-GMO Project Verified and free of trans fat, gluten, dairy and soy.

Caramel Popcorn Recipe

1 cup packed, dark brown sugar
½ cup sugar
1/8 cup water
1/3 cup Rich & Creamy MELT® Organic Buttery Spread
1 tablespoon light molasses
1½ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
12 cups popcorn, air-popped and unsalted

Preheat oven to 250°. Coat a large jelly roll pan with cooking spray. Combine the sugars, water, MELT® and molasses in a medium saucepan. Boil over medium heat. Once boiling, cook for 5 minutes, stirring once. Remove from heat. Add the vanilla, baking soda and salt, stirring to mix. Pour the mixture over the popcorn and stir to coat.

Spread the popcorn in a single layer in your jelly roll pan and bake for 45 minutes, turning the popcorn every 15 minutes so it does not burn. Remove from the oven and break up clumps. Let cool 15 minutes.

Melt Butter Substitute

We were given the opportunity to try out some MELT® ourselves and were very pleased with it’s creamy texture, melting factor and taste! We used it on some baked potatoes one evening with dinner. We used it another time during breakfast on our toasted bagels, another time on our French toast and frankly, we’ve been using it pretty often when we need to use butter or a butter substitute.

Baked Potato with MELT

The MELT® Organic’s products look, taste and melt just like real butter, but without all of the dairy products in it. For those of you have dairy allergies, this is great! For those of you who just want a healthier alternative….great for you too! We think it’s fantastic and have already made the switch. You can use it in baking recipes, on your sandwiches, melted on top of your potatoes, veggies, etc. Any place that you would normally use butter, you can use MELT® Organic!

I’ve not heard of this product but it sounds like something I would try. I don’t buy processed snacks so I’d love to make my own flavored air popped popcorn. I’d have to skip the sugar though but a savory recipe sounds good too.

I would love to use Melt to make caramel popcorn. This recipe looks so good and I am sure it is better than any store bought popcorn

The caramel popcorn would be very good. I’ve never tried Melt. Does it taste of coconut?

I made caramel popcorn once, and it was so good, I was shocked at how much better than store bought it was, and I gave it out at the holidays. I’d love to try this!

That looks good. I havent tried this brand before, but have made caramel popcorn plenty! I actually like making it the best with the hullless popcorn, I dont know if the regular way like this works though to make it. I just follow the directions they give on the bag.
