Cool Down this Summer with these Delicious Ice Cream Recipes
Celebrity Chef Curtis Stone and his wife, actress Lindsay Price Stone, juggle busy schedules but know the importance of celebrating moments big and small. That’s why they’ve partnered with Breyers, who is celebrating its 150th birthday this year.
To celebrate this milestone, Curtis and Lindsay teamed up in the kitchen to create 12 recipes featuring Breyers National Vanilla, inspired by an ingredient in season for each month of the year.
Let me whet your appetite! Below are Curtis and Lindsay’s delicious recipes to cool off during the hot summer months:
· June: Brookie Cherry Ice Cream Sandwich – Sautéed fresh cherries combined with Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream and sandwiched between two homemade brookies – a brownie and cookie mashup!
· July: Roasted White Peaches with Honeycomb and Vanilla Ice Cream – White peaches sprinkled with lemony sugar, roasted until softened and topped with scoops of Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream and honeycomb crumble.
· August: Spiced Roasted Figs with Hazelnuts and Vanilla Ice Cream – A decadent dessert of caramelized figs and Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream sprinkled with toasted hazelnuts.
Not only are these recipes delicious, you can truly feel great about serving them. Breyers products are made with milk and cream from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones, and sustainably farmed vanilla beans. You can find all of the celebrity chef recipes right on Breyers.com.
I was sent a Breyers coupon so that I could pick up a package of ice cream and make one of the recipes for my family. I decided to make the Brookie Cherry Ice Cream Sandwich recipe since my husband loves vanilla & cherry flavored ice cream. The recipe was a LOT easier to make than what I thought it would be. In addition, he’s not too fond of cookies, so I made my own recipe for a more cake-like consistency cookie than a hard one. Other than that, I followed their recipe. If you don’t want to mess around making the cookie portion of the recipe, you can simply do the ice cream portion to make a cherry & vanilla ice cream which is really good! (shown above).
I made the recipe and although mine aren’t as pretty as their’s….they were still delicious and my family ate them right up. There were no leftovers at all and they were gone within the hour. I’ll definitely be making their recipe again and perhaps next time around I’ll try making it with chocolate chip cookies! YUMMY!
