For the past 2 weeks here in the northeast we’ve been having a heatwave and according to our local weatherman, we will continue to be in the high 90’s until the end of the month. On top of having the hot heat…we have high humidity which is making it even worse!
I don’t know about all of you…but I avoid cooking in my kitchen during heatwaves like this and I certainly won’t be turning on my oven anytime soon!
Our great friends over at Arnold Bread sent over some great no-cook meal recipes for us to share with all of you. Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Arnold® Bread is a delicious and nutritious starting point for to your favorite sandwich.
These no-cook recipes were created by top chefs and registered dieticians for the Arnold® Bread America’s Better Sandwich Contest that you can enjoy making for your friends and family.

Kevin’s Post Workout Recovery Sandwich is my favorite of the 2 sandwiches. I use Arnold bread a lot and try to use the oven less when it is so hot.
Oh, I agree about not cooking in this heat! I’ve had Arnold bread and really liked it. It definitely makes a good sandwich.
I am always looking for easy to prepare recipes that don’t require me to do much cooking during these hot summer months. I especially like the recipe for the chicken turkey sandwich. Protein and veggies and good bread is something that would be good for tonight’s dinner.
I heated water for tea early this morning so I can drink it cold later. Over 100 today and tomorrow so the stove is officially closed for now! It will be cold veggies and cottage cheese with the hot weather and praying there is no black outs like with the last heat wave. Fresh bread doesn’t last too long in this heat, so good to freeze it.
I like salads and sandwiches in the heat of the summer. We’ve been in the 90s but with low humidity so it’s not as bad.
In summer months, we try not to use the stove or oven. Occasionally, we will run the slowcooker but mostly it is microwave or grilling. No heating up the house. What great takes on sandwiches. They all look so good. I know my daughter would go for the spicy pb and cinnamon for decadence but we’d also like the added heat of the jalapenos to the chicken turkey.
