Wheat and Gluten Free Rolls by BFree

BFree Gluten Free FoodsMy mother is 68 years old and lives with us on a part-time basis. A few years ago she started having a slew of GI issues and after seeing a specialist, he told her that she needed to go gluten-free. Since that time, she has went to a 90% gluten-free diet.

Since she’s at our home all of the time, it’s my job to make sure that gluten-free products are coming into my home. Instead of buying two different items (one for us and one for her), we decided to add gluten-free products to our own nutritional diets.

BFree White Dinner Rolls

Recently we were introduced to a new company in the United States called BFree who makes gluten free breads, rolls, pita breads, bagels and wraps. All of their products are low-calorie, high-fiber and low-fat, plus they have the same consistency and taste as conventional wheat breads.

The entire BFree line is free of wheat, dairy, eggs, nut and soy, meaning that all products are gluten-free, allergen-friendly and completely vegan! So, if you have a special diet or just want to eat better-for-you foods, try out the products from BFree.

For this particular review we received 2 packages of the BFree Rolls. One package contained 4 Soft White Rolls and the other package contained 4 Brown Seeded Rolls. Both are high in fiber and low in fat. On a diet? One of the Soft White Rolls is 120 calories with 10 calories from fat.

The rolls are gluten free, dairy free, wheat free, egg free, nut free, soy free, non GMO and contain no added sugar. They are ready-to-eat right out of the package or you can warm them up in the toaster oven or microwave if you prefer them warm. You can slice them open and use them for sandwiches or just use them as a regular dinner roll.

Veggie Pasta Soup with Dinner Roll

We found the rolls to be a little on the “dry” side in their texture, but they did have a nice taste to them. Since we found them to be dry, we preferred serving them alongside bowls of soup. With that said, we all have different taste buds and you may enjoy their texture.

Oh one more thing…these rolls do freeze well! After I got them, I placed one package in my freezer because I knew we couldn’t eat them all up fast enough before the EXP DATE. So, I froze one package and they froze & thawed out really nicely. Just an FYI on that!

You can learn more about BFree Foods by visiting their site online. Right now their products are in limited states but they’re expanding quickly across the nation. Check out their website to find out which stores currently carry their products.
