My son just turned 9 months old and is growing up faster than what I would like. My husband and I decided that this is our last child, so we’ve been trying to enjoy every moment of babyhood that we can. You know…that first tooth, that first word, the first time that they crawl and so forth.

Unlike my daughter, my son has some issues with sleep. At times, it can be a real struggle to get him to go to bed at night and to sleep through the night, forget it! Even at 9 months of age, he’ll get up 2-4 times every night which is extremely tough on me, because I work a full-time job & never get enough sleep.

I was sent The Zen Sleep Sack from the Nested Bean to review for you. It’s a sleep sack that is incredibly soft to the touch and easy-to-use. Unlike other sleep sacks, this one has a very special feature built into it. The Zen Sack has a lightly weighted pad to simulate a comforting palm on baby’s chest.

Research shows that simulated touch has benefits similar to the human touch and helps babies to self-soothe, calm and sleep easier. In addition, it nurtures and promotes early childhood development. Moms have reported that their babies fall asleep easier & stay asleep longer within 1-3 nights of using The Zen Sack. It is toxin-free and exceeds US & International safety standards.

I wasn’t quite sure how “Prince” would like the Zen Sleep Sack, but was pleasantly surprised that he liked it and after a few nights, was sleeping for longer periods of time. On top of it being very functional, it’s incredibly cute!

The Zen Sleep Sack features 2 adjustable snap closures at each shoulder and a zip around closure that runs from one armpit, down the side and completely around the bottom of the sack, gotta love a 2-way zipper system! These features allow you to easily get it on & off your child and make for quick & easy diaper changing, It’s completely machine wash & dry and from personal experience, it gets softer with each laundering.

We received the 6-12 months size which is for children who weight 16-24 lbs. I would say that the sleep sack is true-to-size. One of the things I like about it is that my son does a lot of “rolling around” while he sleeps. Often times I’ll walk into his nursery and he’s completely uncovered with goose bumps. Because I’ve been using the sleep sack, his legs remain completely covered and warm. During the cooler nights, I can wear a shirt underneath the sleep sack and during the hotter summer months…I can choose to have him wear nothing but his diaper and/or a short sleeved tee under it. I’m giving it a big 2-thumbs up!
