Recipes for National Iced Tea Month

The hot days of summer are here and so is National Iced Tea Month. Whether you opt for sweet tea, plain or flavored, the options are endless but one things for sure it is always refreshing! In honor of National Iced Tea Month, we’ve got two delicious recipes to share with you today courtesy of KRUPS.

Arnold Palmer Iced Tea Recipe

Arnold Palmer 2.0 Iced Tea Recipe

5 g. loose-leaf black tea
1 oz. lemon juice
1 oz. simple syrup
3 dashes lavender bitters

Steep tea for 4 minutes in 3 oz. of water just off the boil, stirring periodically. While tea is steeping, combine lemon juice, simple syrup, and bitters in a pint glass, and top with plenty of ice. When tea has finished steeping, strain resulting concentrate into the pint glass, over the ice and other ingredients. Much of the ice will melt, chilling and diluting the tea to the appropriate strength. Stir gently to combine, and top with more ice. Garnish with a thick slice of lemon peel, and serve with a straw.

A Note From The Barista: I love an Arnold Palmer– a classic combo of iced tea and lemonade– but I often find that just mixing lemonade and iced tea results in a drink that doesn’t taste enough like either one for my liking. This recipe essentially replaces all of the water in lemonade with iced tea, giving us the best qualities of both at full intensity, and then adds lavender bitters for a touch of florality. – Sam Lewontin, Champion Barista and KRUPS Ambassador.

Sun Shower Iced Tea Recipe

Sun Shower No. 2 Iced Tea Recipe

4 oz. Jasmine Green Tea
4 oz. Filter Coffee (A balanced Latin-American coffee, such as Counter Culture’s La Voz, Guatemala, works well here)
1/2 oz. Honey Syrup
3 tsp. Lemon Juice

Add all ingredients to your favorite mug. Stir gently to combine. Express the oil of a slice of lemon peel over the top of the drink, discarding the peel. For iced, chill in a refrigerator for three hours and add ice before enjoying.
