If you’ve been reading this blog…you’ll already know that I am a HUGE lover of the beach and coastal style! I decorate the inside and outside of my home in the coastal style and just love it! While some decorate in bright vivid colors, I tend to lean more towards the beach neutrals with some sea green, light aqua and turquoise accenting colors.
It’s been awhile since I published a Fun Frugal Finds post, so today…I’m sharing with all of you one of my recent bargain finds!
One of my favorite stores is called The Christmas Tree Shop who sells all kinds of great home decor items, gardening items, furniture, beauty products, food, gifts, etc. They don’t just sell Christmas items!
I had a coupon for $10.00 off a $50.00 purchase that I needed to use up, so I headed to my local store. Once there, I found these beautiful outdoor solar powered lanterns in a beach & coastal style! I have seen similar hanging solar lanterns for $35.00 each which was more than I wanted to pay, so I passed them up. Well, these were on sale!
How much of a sale? Well, I’m going to tell you! I got each one for $11.99 each! As you can imagine…I snagged up four of the hanging solar lanterns pretty quickly! To get my sales total over $50.00, I ended up picking up three new kitchen towels for $1.00 each. My bill was a little over $50.00 and I got $10.00 off with my coupon! Not only did I save $10 with that coupon, but I got the solar lanterns for under $12.00 a piece, as compared to $35.00 each for something similar at another store! Wahoooo!
I have 2 of my new outdoor solar lanterns hanging on garden hooks in front of our house near the walkway. I have the other two in the backyard near a small walkway that leads to our swimming pool. They look gorgeous!

I had quite a score last week at the local LL Bean Outlet store, where I was shopping for a friend’s birthday gifts. They were having a 50% off sale on certain items, so I hit that rack and found a lovely cardigan-style top with mother-of-pearl buttons. It was originally $32.95 with an outlet price of $24.99, marked down to $12.49, then half off. I also found a beautiful leather belt originally $59, outlet priced at $29.99, marked down to $7.49, then half off. As I was paying with my LL Bean Visa card, I found I had a $10 coupon, so I got both items for a total of fifty-three cents–not bad for $91.95 worth of gifts!
Now that’s my kind of shopping! What I’ve learned is that I need to be patient and start looking for items that I want earlier. Then keep track of stores that sell them and wait for them to come down in price. For me, patience is key…I get impatient and want things now LOL
These are such pretty outdoor lights! I like the styles and that they are Coastal and have great colors. I want one!

Nope, they came with the flameless candles inside them and with the seahorse & seashell decor attached to them. I did add some sand around the base of the flameless candles after I took those pics though.
I’m like you; I love a sale, but I want a nice quality item. I won’t just buy something because it is on sale. That said I have many many marked down wonders. I love your lamps!
