3 Considerations to Make When Buying a Watch that Matches Your Wardrobe

brathwait watchBoys use smartphones to check time and men use watches. This is just one of those marketing statements that watch manufacturers have been using to promote their products. Well, actually it is true because it is very rare to find a man using his phone to check time. They want to twist their wrists and consult their chronographs- it is just so cool doing so. The only mistake many people make is failing to match their watches with their outfits correctly. To start with, this does not mean that you must get a box full of watches so that you can have one for every outfit you own.

Matching outfits with your watch

It is possible to own just one watch but one that works really well for your look. This is going to be a little bit difficult at first but then here is tip to help you out. Scan your wardrobe and check out the most prevalent colors as well as the most prevalent material. This will help you select the right color of your watch and the most ideal band material.

Buying a luxury watch can be quite exhausting simply because there are so many options to select from. Online stores like Essential Watches have made it their business to ensure that men and women all over the world are able to find high quality luxury watches and they do not have to pay a fortune in the process. A quick visit to brathwait is going to present anyone with a host of options to select from. This is one of the very many online stores that deal with watches. Here are considerations you can make:

1. Level of formality

The style of the watch that you choose to wear is going to be informed by the formality of your outfit. The watch that you would wear when you are going out hiking is very different from one that you would use when you are going for a corporate dinner. Analog watches are considered classic. They are therefore the most appropriate pieces for formal activities. A digital watch on the other hand is considered to be quite casual.

2. Category of watch

Watches come in a whole lot of categories including: dress watches, sports watches, diver’s watches, pilot watches. The diver’s watches are ideal for all sorts of outfits from business formal to sports. However, they are not for black tie events. A dress watch on the other hand works for all sorts of outfits except the sports gear. It is highly formal.

3. Material of the band

The watchband should match with your shoes or at least emphasize the beauty of your shoes. Therefore, people with brown shoes and belts will do best with brown leather watchbands as well.

Leather always complements leather. The metal casing of the watch is also going to inform the metal that will be on your belts, bracelets and such things. Metals also complement their relatives.

When you make these three considerations, you should not have a problem finding the watch that works best for you. Investing in at least one luxury watch is going to make your life much better.

  1. I do have two very nice watches that I choose between on special and more formal occasions. Other than that, I don’t typically wear a watch but my husband has several sports watches that he wears.

  2. I’m not a fan of watches but I do own three. One is fun and casual. One is black & formal. And the other is plain gold. The thing they have in common is that they are analog and two of them have large faces & numbers so I can read them.

  3. I need to wear a watch with a second hand for taking vitals. I don’t even like wearing digital watches for that reason. Watch bands are really important to me since I tend to wear the watch face on the inside of my wrist, so I don’t turn it usually to see the time. I do wish they would make longer lasting watch batteries though.

I still love to wear a nice watch, even if cellphones have made it so nobody really needs one.
