Pistachio Chewy Bite Salad Recipe

May 1, 2016 by Sara

Pistachio Berry BlendHow Setton Farms Began: It all started in 1959 with a bakery and a dream. The Setton brothers hoped that they could win over the taste buds of Brooklyn’s residents with delicious sponge cake and jelly donuts. Years later that dream grew into a passion to share gourmet food and specialty items. In 1967 they opened their first grocery store. During that time, the Setton brothers began selling packaged nuts and seeds to major retailers in the New York metropolitan area. In 1981 they expanded their operation by entering the wholesale business selling nuts, dried fruits, seeds, trail mixes and other specialty items.

Today Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. is one of America’s largest pistachio grower and processors. The family’s passion for farming California pistachios today encompasses over 10,000 acres farmed directly and in partnership with others. As a vertically integrated pistachio company, Setton is able to focus on its tradition of excellence and pays attention to every step of the process, ensuring the top quality and value of their family’s passion. You can visit Setton Farms online to learn more.

What is Pistachio Berry Blend?

This delicious blend takes Setton’s family’s best tasting premium quality California pistachios and combines them with tart cherries and cranberries, fresh roasted almonds and cashews, and creaming white chips for a decadent combining sure to please. Available in a resealable 5 oz. bag, it is the perfect, healthy snack to have with you at all times no matter if you’re on a road trip, a hike, or munching at the office. Packed with pistachios, almonds, cashews, cherries, cranberries, and white chocolate chips, this is a snack you are sure to love! MSRP $4.99

My Thoughts

Looking for a healthy, delicious, easy snack for yourself or your family? Well look no further than with Setton Farms Pistachio Berry Blend. This is the perfect snack to have with you any time of day: on the way to work in the morning, sprinkled on your salad at lunch, midnight snack, etc. You really can’t go wrong…my bag is already gone, and I just opened it up Monday. This snack includes three of my favorite nuts, pistachios, cashews & almonds (add some walnuts and this girl will buy in bulk) and white chocolate chips, so it’s the perfect sweet & salty snack. I also really like that is comes in a resealable bag to keep from the mix getting stale. With National Salad Month right around the corner, Setton Farms products are the perfect choice to spruce up your favorite salad.

Heather Bell and Jenny Engel of Spork Foods are excited to celebrate this year with their delicious Savory Pistachio Chewy Bite Salad. No longer are we subject to salads that do nothing to fill our appetites, by incorporating Pistachio Chewy Bites into the recipe, this salad is a great way to stay healthy and satisfied. So the next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up a bag of Setton Farms Pistachios…you won’t be disappointed.

Pistachio Chewy Bite Salad Recipe

Savory Pistachio Chewy Bite Salad Recipe – Serves 4

Salad Ingredients:
1 package Setton Farms Pistachio Chewy Bites (6 pieces)
1 Persian cucumber, cut into rounds
1 carrot
2-3 cups packed baby lettuce or mixed lettuce greens

Dressing Ingredients:
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons brown rice syrup
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon finely ground black pepper

Remove all Pistachio Chewy Bites from wrappers. Chop each bar into 6 pieces. Set aside.

Place salad greens in a large bowl with enough room to toss salad greens with dressing. Peel carrot into thin strips using a vegetable peeler. Add cucumber and carrot to salad greens and set aside.

For dressing, whisk olive oil, brown rice syrup, balsamic vinegar, sea salt and pepper until uniform. To assemble salad, toss greens together with dressing. Top with chopped Pistachio Chewy Bites.

I love pistachios both in sweet and savory dishes. They are perfect in salads such as this one. I have never tried brown rice syrup. I would love to try the Setton Farms Pistachio Chewy Bites.

I love the pistachio and berry blend snack. I would have trouble not eating the whole bag and having enough saved to make the salad. What a yummy looking salad.

I love this salad idea, and would like to make it. I haven’t seen anything from Setton Farms in my area, but I haven’t been looking, and haven’t been to many places. I want to look for it!!

I’d love to try this and also need to get some brown rice syrup. I had some which I won but it didn’t last long since I scarfed it down quickly! I love any kind of nuts and thank the good Lord I am not allergic. They are so good for you and really help keep me satisfied. Cucs have been such a good price lately that I’m really stocked up and need to use them so I’ll include extra in the recipe.

I haven’t seen this in any store around here! I’ll have to look. Now that the warm weather is on the way, it’s time to break out the salads. This is a nice-sounding blend. I always do like some crunch in my salad, and these heart-healthy nuts are a better choice than plain croutons (full of empty carbs).

Oh, I’ve had these! They are so good. I like your salad idea. I need to buy some brown rice syrup (note to self). they are also good on an avocado and orange salad.
