In celebration of National Women’s Health Week (May 8-14th, 2016), Colgate Total® is inviting women across the country to pledge to put their health first. It’s difficult to balance all your family’s needs with your own, so this week serves as a time to remind women what steps they can take to improve their health. One simple, yet effective change you can make is switching to Colgate Total Daily Repair products, allowing you to take your oral health off that lengthy to-do list.
As part of this celebration, I was asked to join-in and received a Colgate Total Daily Repair oral health kit to review. Inside my kit I received: (shown above)
* Colgate Total Daily Repair Toothpaste
* Colgate Total Daily Repair Mouthwash
* Colgate 360 Total Advanced Floss-Tip Bristles Toothbrush
* Selfie-Stick
Just like most women…I rarely put myself first because I’m so busy taking care of my family and working 2 part time jobs! This campaign that I’m participating in really got me to stop and think about putting myself first, even if it’s just one week out of the year.
For the past 10 years I’ve been using a variety of Colgate products and have featured many of them right here on the blog. I was really excited to give the new Colgate Total Daily Repair products a try. Matter of fact, I shared them with my mother too!
The Colgate Total Daily Repair Toothpaste is absolutely fantastic! We love that this toothpaste helps to repair early teeth & gum damage by remineralizing weakened enamel, helps to kill bacteria that causes gingivitis and helps to protect against plaque & tartar. It freshens breath and whitens your teeth too! I really love how my teeth feel after I’ve brushed with this toothpaste and my breath stays fresh for HOURS!
The Colgate 360 Total Advanced Floss-Tip Bristles Toothbrush is designed to provide deeper reach versus an ordinary flat trim toothbrush. It features tapered bristles that reach deep between teeth along the gumline. The built-in cheek & tongue cleaner removes odor-causing bacteria. I have to admit, I didn’t care for this toothbrush at all. I used it a few times and found that it irritated my sensitive teeth & gums. I then cleaned it & sterilized it and asked my mother to try it out. Well, she loves it and doesn’t have the tooth sensitivities that I do.
The Colgate Total Daily Repair Mouthwash refreshes breath with a cool-clean formula. It restores natural calcium and repairs weakened enamel. This mouthwash is great! I love that it has a nice taste to it and it doesn’t irritate my teeth or gums. Once I’ve rinsed with this mouthwash my breath stayed fresh & clean for HOURS!
My mother and I are both very impressed with the new Colgate Total Daily Repair products! For more information, you can visit the Colgate Total website to learn more.

The number one thing that I consider in toothpaste is fluoride. After that, flavor is another concern. Then price matters, but shopping around helps with that.

Crazy as it sounds my #1 consideration for a toothpaste is the taste – if it makes me gag I don’t want to use it
I like the one with the white strips in the toothpaste. I like to floss a lot, can never go wrong with flossing.

I consider safe products for toothpaste and am looking for those without chemicals, artificial color, etc. I like something refreshing that helps to freshen breath. I do like the ones with whitener built in. I’d say as a hint to never neglect your teeth. Poor health in teeth, gums, and jawbone are indicators of health in other areas like your heart or circulation. The pain and shame of having bad teeth is not worth it. Spend the time and money to care for your smile, but also the “bed’ of your teeth…gums and jaw.
Something that is good for my mouth, teeth, and gums.
I look to see if it is approved by the ADA.
I need a sensitive toothpaste so that’s the first thing I look for.
I like a nice tasty toothpaste that whitens teeth.
I look at the buzz words. I want whitening plus tartar control. Then, I check out flavors.
I usually buy toothpaste that strengthens enamel like Sensodyne’s Pronamel.
I like toothpaste that doesn’t have a strong flavor/scent.
The important thing for me is that my teeth feel and look clean and also I prefer to use something with all natural ingredients.

When it comes to buying toothpaste I consider the taste as the number one factor. I also consider price and the brand of the product. I buy several different toothpastes as I like to use different ones so I don’t get bored brushing.

When it comes to toothpaste I can’t stand Spearmint (Peppermint is lovely) and I wish that they wouldn’t just put “Mint” on the labels!

My #1 consideration is effectiveness and then taste.
A good toothpaste has fluoride, and is not abrasive. I am a retired RDH, and I have the 2 best tips. #1 – ALWAYS floss! Most problems start between the teeth, where even the best brush can’t reach. #2 – ALWAYS use a soft toothbrush, You are brushing away soft plaque, not power cleaning a brick wall. And soft bristles will get down into the sulcus easily, whereas hard bristles won’t. PLEASE listen, guys, I know what I’m talking about!
$1 thing to consider that it’s good for sensitive teeth
