Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Castle in FloridaWe’ve been fortunate enough to visit Walt Disney World down in Orlando Florida a few times in our lives. I remember visiting Disney in my early twenties, then again in my 30’s and again last fall. It takes us about 3 days to travel there by car from Pennsylvania and we do stop at night to sleep. Sorry guys, we are OLD now and we can’t do the driving straight through thing!

One of the iconic things you’ll see when you visit Disney is the famous Cinderella castle! It’s a real beauty during the daytime but at night…it’s all lit up in beautiful lights that can be seen from all over the park. You’ll often find several of the Disney characters hanging out in and around the castle, so if you’re looking for them, look there for sure!

Every time we visit…I always try to get close enough to get some decent photographs of the castle, but I keep lucking out. Every time we’ve been there, it’s been super crowded and getting close enough to get photos or photos from different angles is really difficult! Heck, just trying to avoid “people” in your photo is tough too!

Now that we’re getting older, we are planning to visit one more time when our little grandson gets a little bit older. We want to take our grand daughter and grandson along with us, so we would like for him to be old enough to remember the trip. Hopefully we can do that in about 4-5 years.

How many of you have visited Walt Disney World and for those of you who have, what was your favorite thing about the visit?

  1. I have never been to Disney World or Disneyland. My grandkids have gone with their parents to Disneyland and had a wonderful time. The Cinderella Castle looks just spectacular.

  2. Disneyland is 40 miles away from me or about an hour’s drive without traffic. Do you think I’ve ever been? Of course not but maybe I’ll win tickets some day! I’m not much for crowds though so it’s not on my bucket list!

  3. Sometimes I think I’m one of the few remaining people in this country who have not visited Disney World, and at this point, I think it’s a pretty fair bet that I never will. Just thinking about the crowds gives me the heebie-jeebies!

  4. I’ve only been once many years ago. I liked Epcot and the different country places with neat food.

I love that castle. My first husband and I went to Disneyworld on our honeymoon back in 1976. I was so taken with it – by day or by night, but at night, they way they light it up….wow! At least one good thing came out of that marriage!

  6. I haven’t been to Disney, it does sound like so much fun. I was talking with someone who took his kids to Disney, and it was very expensive, they researched it extensively beforehand, so they had a wonderful time! And are already planning to go back again.

My brother’s family just went in March. My niece had a competitive cheerleading competition there, so they decided to turn it into a week long family vacation. My nephews favorites? The scary ones, of course, lol: rollercoaster type things. My niece loved the thing that I think of as a rollercoaster on water, ha! Those ‘logs’ on Splash Mountain, I think it’s called. Myself, I’d love to spend days at Epcot, just sampling the food of one ‘country’ after another!

I have been to Disneyland in California and the Cinderella Castle there is gorgeous! I loved all the rides and Disney characters rooming around and they had an awesome parade. I want to go back! I would love to go to Disney World in Florida!

  9. (Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World) I would love to be able to send my grandson with Mom and Dad some day to visit this place. I know my grandson would have a blast!

  10. I have never been to Disneyworld but I sure would like to even at my age I know I would enjoy it. I have been to Disneyland several times and it is magical. I still remember going for the first time as a child and I remember getting my Mickey Mouse balloon.

  11. I could spend days at Disney World. It’s been ages since we visited though. I was at Disneyland last.

    • Which one do you like better? I’ve never been to Disneyland, just Disneyworld.
