I love using my slow cooker and probably use it a minimum of three times every week. I use it primarily to make soups, stews and roasts but from time to time…I will use it to make slow cooked desserts too!
When I make this recipe I buy bags of frozen beef meatballs from my grocery store. When my daughter makes this recipe she picks up those frozen beef meatballs from the dollar store & raves about them. You could also substitute with chicken, pork or turkey balls too!
Slow Cooker Sweet n Sour Meatballs Recipe
10 oz. jar sweet and sour sauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp. soy sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
2 1/2 lbs. frozen meatballs (fully cooked)
20 ounce can pineapple chunks, drained
I use the largest slow cooker that I own which holds 5 quarts. Pour the sweet & sour sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, salt, ground black pepper into the base of the slow cooker and stir. Gently add in the frozen beef meatballs and the drained can of pineapple chunks. Stir to combine all ingredients.
Place the lid on the slow cooker and turn the heat up to the HIGH setting for one hour. Reduce heat to the low setting for 4-6 hours or until done. Serve immediately or keep them on the warm setting until serving time.
Looking for a new slow cooker? I have three of them and use them all of the time. The last two that I got…I purchased from Amazon and love them!

This is an easy way to make something soo good people will be talking about it for weeks and demanding the recipe!!! I’d love to try it!
Oh yum! This is an easy recipe and I need to make it for dinner and put these meatballs on top of rice. I really like how easy they are to make. Thanks for sharing.
Let’s hear it for slow cookers! Another great recipe to try in mine. Someday I’ll try making a dessert in mine.
Now this is really nice! I love any Asian-inspired food, and this one looks like a winner. Easy enough too – let the slow cooker do the work! Sweet and sour anything is a favorite of mine. I can see even serviing this over crispy Chinese noodles for a crunch, or over rice. Any way you look at it, it;s going onmy dinner tabe next week. You always have such nice recipes!
Thank you Sandy! If you live near a Dollar Store that has a frozen foods section, my daughter buys their $1.00 per bag for pre-cooked beef meatballs and swears they’re delicious.
I am always looking for new recipes for the slow cooker and these look yummy and easy. An interesting combination of ingredients that I think would be very flavorful. I think this would be popular with my family.
This really looks like a great plate. I hope that I can make this treat the way you have done in the photo. It looks nutritional as well.
Since everything is already prepared or cooked this is an easy recipe to make. I would probably use my Dutch oven to brown onions, garlic and meatballs before adding the other ingredients and then place the pan covered in the oven on low.
I’ve had slow-cooker meatballs similar to these & loved them! They were served at a get-together as appetizers. They are great!
I try to use my gas stove instead of electricity since it’s cheaper for me. I do love using the pineapple and this recipe is quick and easy with the jars, cans, and frozen meat instead of cooking from scratch.
I’m fairly new to my slow cooker, but I absolutely love it and enjoy looking for new recipes. This is different from any I’ve ever seen before! It looks easy and delicious. Plus, my kids love pineapples. Thanks for sharing, I’ll have to try it!
Now these are really different! I just bet these would be a huge hit for parties on toothpicks. I could also see making them with a pork base or a higher pork base. I myself use those frozen meatballs ALL the time! They are good and quick. I do precook and drain the fat though (they are fattier than you think) and they always turn out great.
I am trying this one!
