Chewy Double Chocolate Cookies Recipe

April 12, 2016 by Carol

Double Chocolate CookiesMy children and grandchildren love when I make a big batch of homemade cookies. On top of that, they’re always asking me to bake cookies for their various school and church bake sales, for scout meetings and so forth. One of their most request cookies is this recipe which I’m sharing with all of you today. It will make 3 to 4 dozen, depending on size that you make them.

Chewy Double Chocolate Cookies

2 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cups butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 medium eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 2/3 cups white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Stir together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. In another bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add in the medium eggs and vanilla. Gradually beat in the flour mixture until everything is well combined. Hand stir in the white chocolate chips until combined.

Drop the batter by a big teaspoon onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven for 8-9 minutes or until done. Don’t over-bake them! Remove and let cool. Store in an airtight container.

These sound good, and look delish. I love white chocolate, I keep buying white chocolate chips and end up eating the bag of them before I can make a recipe – I’ll just have to get some extra chips!

These look delicious! I rarely make cookies with cocoa powder because I feel like they never turn out tasting that great, but these sound wonderful. I think i’ll surprise my kids with them soon. 🙂

I love chocolate chip cookies, except I would also use dark chocolate chips or a mixture of the chips. I shall be making these cookies soon.

I just mixed up some chocolate chip cookies! This is really close to the recipe I use, too, except I divide the sugar between white & brown sugars, I use butter-flavored Crisco because I like the results it gives & I used milk chocolate chips this time. (Sometimes, I use the white chocolate or butterscotch.)

I’m not that fond of white chocolate so I’d just use regular chocolate chips. They do look very yummy.

Oh yeah! This is something I haven’t seen before, white chocolate chips in regular chocolate cookies. But after reading the recipe and looking at the picture, I can tell you that I will be seeing them a LOT! 3 -4 dozen, you say? I may share a few with my mom and brother, the rest are MINE! Pinned and planned and can’t wait!
