Banana Mango Smoothie Recipe

Banana Mango Smoothie RecipesMaking homemade fruit smoothies is a great way to get extra fruits into your system. I admit it…I love eating fruits but I often don’t get 4 or more servings of it a day. One way that I can easily get them into me is by consuming a fruit smoothie. Not only that…making them at home is a LOT cheaper than buying one at a local smoothie bar!

I’ve shared some recipes on this blog before with all of you and over the coming weeks…I’ll be sharing more. Today though…I’m sharing one of my favorites with all of you!

Banana Mango Smoothie Recipe

1 large ripe banana, sliced into chunks
1 medium ripe mango, peeled and sliced
1 cup whole milk
1 cup plain yogurt
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 teaspoon honey
4-5 ice cubes

Toss the sliced banana, sliced mango, milk, plain yogurt, vanilla extract, pineapple juice and honey into your blender container. Place lid on top and blend for 10-15 seconds. Open the lid and toss in a big handful of ice cubes. Place the lid back on the container and blend until it’s your desired consistency. Serve immediately.

Note: My husband will occasionally toss in 1-2 fresh sweet (not tart) cherries (pits removed) into his. He likes the little bit of extra sweetness that the cherries add.

I would love to make this recipe and it gives me a lot of fruits and yogurt too. It would taste delicious and be good for me!

  2. This is a great way for me to get some bananas into my diet because I love mangoes but am not a fan of bananas. I know that bananas are such a good natural source of potassium so smoothies like this one work for me.

I love bananas & I love mangoes. I don’t think I’ve ever tried combining them, but this sounds pretty good. I’d definitely try this one.

  4. I would love to make this with everything so wonderful, the pineapple, too. I must make it soon!

  5. Like Laura, I’m not a big fan of bananas in a drink. I think it’s the aftertaste that doesn’t sit right with me. I do like some banana flavorings though, like bread! Maybe sub pineapple chunks or papaya to help with digestion and complement the mango, which I love. Anything goes in a smoothie.

I have to admit I must be in the small percent who does not like bananas so I guess i would use an avocado.

  7. I’ve never used mango in my smoothies. I don’t know how to tell ripe ones so I pass them by in the store.
