Wyland Whaling Wall – Humpbacks off the Jersey Coast

Wyland Whaling WallBack in June we took a vacation down to the south Jersey Shore. If I could live any where on earth…that is where I would be. I’ve been all over the world and have seen hundreds of beautiful places along the way…but the south Jersey Shore is where I want to be.

Many of you are familiar with Wyland’s beautiful coastal artwork but did you also know that you can find the Wyland Whaling Walls all over the United States? Hubby and I have been traveling around to see them for the past several years and always document them in a book with information & photos.

This particular Wyland Whaling Wall is located in Wildwood New Jersey…yes, our second home! It is painted onto the side of a very large retail building that sits on the Wildwood Boardwalk.

The title of this one is: Humpbacks off the Jersey Coast. You can read more about this specific whaling wall by visiting the WylandFoundation.org web site.

This one is one of our favorites because it’s located at one of our favorite places in the world. Over the next several weeks, I will share some others with all of you. Have any of you ever visited one of the Wyland Whaling Walls?

I have never visited a Wyland Wall, but have enjoyed reading all your posts about them. I would love to see one of these walls in person because the painting always looks so real that one feels one is there.
