The Kissing Tower at Hersheypark

February 17, 2016 by Shelly

Hershey Kissing Tower at HersheyparkHershey in Pennsylvania is known world-wide as the Sweetest Place on Earth. It’s home to all of the great things that are affiliated with inventor Hershey S. Milton…you know, the guy who invented Hershey’s Chocolate!

Here in south central Pennsylvania, Hershey is a major tourist destination. From early spring through late fall…millions of visitors flock to our area.

They like to visit the Hershey Theater, Hershey Chocolate World, ZooAmerica, the Tanger Outlet Mall, the Hershey Story Museum, Hersheypark, etc. Trust me, there is a lot to see and do in chocolate town, U.S.A.

When you drive through Hershey Pennsylvania during the spring, summer and fall months…you’ll most likely see our famous Kissing Tower at Hersheypark. It’s the tallest structure in the area and can be seen for several miles. At the top of the Kissing Tower is the American flag.

The Kissing Tower is one of the most popular amusement rides at Hersheypark. Matter of fact…my husband asked me to marry him over 30 years ago while we were riding to the top of the tower! Once we reached the top…he asked me, I got my ring and a big old kiss to go along with it!

Have you ever visited the Hershey area in Pennsylvania? What about a visit to Hersheypark?

Well…there you have it! My “almost” Wordless Wednesday photo for this week. Enjoy!

I love Hershey Park. I camped there many times with my family and Girl Scout troop. Dave Matthews Band used to play there during the summer and I never missed him.

I admit the name grabbed my attention (especially since I’ve never been), but hearing about your husband proposal really melted my heart. For you, Hershey is not only sweet for chocolate but due to love and what a great memory for the tallest structure all around. Your love soars! Thanks for the story and post.

How romantic! What a memorable proposal.
I’ve never been to Hershey, but one day I’d like to visit. I’ve heard a lot about it, but the Kissing Tower is new to me. Thanks for sharing your photo and your sweet story (pardon the pun).

I have never visited Hershey Par, but I would love to go there. I think it was very sweet the way your husband proposed to you at the top of the tower. The view must be spectacular.

I didn’t even know about the Kissing Tower. But if any guy took me up there, he wouldn’t get a kiss because I’m afraid of heights, ha!

Our family never visited Pennsylvania despite living in Ohio. We always vacationed out West every summer, where we had other family. I’d like to visit the Hershey area since seeing all the sites I’ve missed.
