Planning a 25th Silver Anniversary Party
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Anniversary Party Ideas. All opinions are 100% mine.
My best friend Renee and her husband Chris will be celebrating their silver 25th wedding anniversary in May of this year. We’ve been best friends since the 1st grade and she was my maid of honor in my wedding and I was the matron of honor in her wedding. Matter of fact, she married my husband’s best friend!
When it comes to planning a 25th Silver Anniversary Party there are a few things that you need to do. Today, I’m going to give you a brief overview on some of the things you need to do as the party host.
1. Set the date for the party! When picking a date, more guests will attend if it’s held on a Saturday as compared to any other day of the week. Next, choose the time. Most hosts agree that you should allow 2-3 hours for the party which gives guests enough time to mingle and have some fun.
2. Decide on the venue. Will you be hosting the party at a specific venue? If so, you’ll need to reserve it MONTHS in advance. Do you have to host it at a big & fancy venue? No, you do not! You can opt for a more laid-back and relaxed party by hosting it at someone’s home.
3. Plan the menu! Will this be a catered party? Will you ask guests to bring a dish? Will you be making the food yourself? Plan out the menu and reserve what needs to be done or purchased ahead of time. Don’t be afraid to ask others for help if you need it.
4. Time to decorate! Unlike a wedding, you don’t need to go all out and overboard with decorations. With that said, you do need to pick up some decorations, so that you set the mood for the party. For the party that we’re planning, I picked up some beautiful 25th anniversary votive candle holders and silver glitter party favor boxes to set out on the tables. For the table that Chris & Renee will be sitting at…I ordered a beautiful flower arrangement and picked up a silver anniversary photo frame and some personalized wine glasses to set a festive party mood. Plus, all of these items will serve as “take home” keepsakes for the guests & our guest’s of honor.
5. Finally, you’ll want to have a few volunteers ahead of time who will help you set things up before the party and who will help you clean things up afterwards. I always find that people are more than happy to volunteer and to participate in any way that they can.
You can plan a fancy 25th Silver Anniversary Party or you can plan a simple one. I’m sure no matter what type of party that you plan…your guests will love it.
