Gluten Free Foods and Baking Mixes from Namaste

February 4, 2016 by Shelly

Gluten Free Baking MixesHow many of you have an issue with gluten and need to eat or drink gluten-free products? Personally, I don’t have an issue with gluten but my 67 year old mother developed a gluten problem 2 years ago. Since that time, she has converted to a gluten-free diet.

With that said, not all gluten-free products are created equally. Matter of fact, I’ve tried a few over the years that were downright nasty tasting and others…that were delicious. Let’s face it, if it doesn’t taste good, you won’t eat it! Well, I’m happy to introduce you to a company that makes gluten free products that we are completely in-love with!

Let me introduce you to Namaste who makes foods for everyone! All of this company’s products are free from: wheat, gluten, egg, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, mustard, sulfites, sesame, caseine, fish, crustaceans and shellfish. If you have any type of food allergy, this is one company you need to check out.

For this review we were sent 2 products:

* Namaste Gluten Free Waffle & Pancake Mix
* Namaste Gluten Free Brownie Mix

Gluten Free Waffles

Let’s start with the delicious gluten-free waffle & pancake mix which is one of the best prepared pancake & waffle mixes we’ve ever tried! Each box of mix will make 2 batches and all you need to add are the eggs, oil and water or milk. You can use any type of milk that you would like. Personally, we used whole cow’s milk. Each batch will make 5-6 waffles or 6-8 pancakes.

For Christmas, we bought my mom a new waffle maker and she’s been patiently waiting to try it out. We’ve had a hard time finding gluten-free waffle mixes around here so when we got the Namaste gluten free waffle & pancake mix for the review…mom could hardly contain herself! LOL

The following morning we woke up to the smell of delicious freshly-made waffles. Mom loved that she only needed to add a few ingredients to the pre-made mix and that the waffles cooked up nice and fluffy. They had a wonderful texture and were very flavorful. Okay, they were fantastic! When she made a second batch a few days later she added some dried organic blueberries to the mix and wow…those were good too!

Gluten Free Brownies

We also received the Namaste gluten free brownie mix which makes a double batch of brownies. You’ll need to add eggs, oil and water to the dry mix to make them. What is really cool is that they give you directions for making them in an 8″ baking pan and/or a 9×13″ baking pan.

I think brownies fall into 2 different categories: a cake-like brownie and a fudge-like brownie. Well, these brownies are the perfect in-between! They are a cake-like brownie but…they are not all dry & crumbly. They have a wonderful texture to them and oh my goodness…they have a delicious chocolate flavor! The chocolate isn’t too sweet and is just perfect!!!

We absolutely LOVE both of the products that we received for this review. Who knew that going gluten-free could taste so good and be so good for you! Seriously, I’ve never tasted better gluten-free baking mixes in my life! Both of these are real winners! Looking for some great recipes? Make sure you check out Namaste’s recipes too!
