Like most of North America, Mont Tremblant is experiencing unusually warm weather this winter. If you were planning on skiing, forget about it. But, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go this year. Here are some amazing activities you can do when the snow isn’t flying.

Shop Till You Drop

Check out Mont Tremblant condo rentals and then hit the shops. Tremblant has a lot of little boutiques. In the resort, there are outdoor outfitters, art dealers, jewelers, and children’s boutiques that specialize in imported goods.

One of the more fascinating places is the Cadeaux 4 Saisons. This little shop sells furniture, kitchen supplies, home decor, and jewelry. They carry everything from popular American staples like Yankee Candle and Cuisinart to Riedel, Thymes, Victorinox and Swissmar.

They also sell perfumes, artworks, holiday decor, kitchen and garden supplies, and baby and children’s toys and articles.

Check Out The Local Markets

The Lachute Flea Market & Farmer’s Market & Horse Auction is one of the best in the area. It’s located on RTE 148 on the west side of Lachute. Started in the 1950s as a small farmer’s market and horse auction, it has ballooned into a massive market open to the general public.

Tuesday is the “big day” during the week, though a smaller market is open on Sunday. There are local antique shops, food vendors, and even an indoor antique mall. The indoor mall hosts 20 year-round vendors selling everything from high end quarter cut oak, to lamps, furniture, dishware, glass, clothes, knives, linen, and other small treasures.

There are also 2 restaurants at the market, one of which is seasonal and the other year-round.

Work Out

You don’t have to shop or stay indoors if there’s no snow. You can work out. The area now has 2 gymnasiums and an Olympic sized swimming pool, as well as a children’s pool. You may not need a gym membership if you’re on vacation, so be sure to ask about one-day or weekend passes for you and your family.

If the kids get bored, head on over to La Foret des Merveilles for games and fun. This indoor-outdoor amusement park is an all-day event.

Go To The Movies

If you’re utterly depressed about not being able to get out on the slopes, there is a movie theatre you can check out – the Cinema Mont-Tremblant. It’s a small theatre, but most guests find is cozy and inviting. Be sure to check movie times and showings before showing up.

Listen To Music

Mont Tremblant has plenty of culture. You can play adult games at the casino, but the resort also hosts many different concerts during the holidays, including concerts at local churches. Various artists are booked each month, which a schedule of events published in advance so you can plan out a trip.

The best way to attend a concert here is to buy tickets in advance and plan on seeing a performer you like. Many of the events are hosted at an outdoor amphiteatre, making it a wonderful experience during warmer months. But, even during the winter months, there are indoor stages and events.
