Sage’s Eyes by V.C. Andrews
Over the past 2 years I’ve shared several book reviews with all of you on the fabulous suspense novels by V.C. Andrews. If you’ve been following this blog for awhile, you will already know that she’s one of my favorite authors…ever!
My love for V.C. Andrews all started with the Dollanger Series – Flowers in the Attic, Petals in the Wind, If There be Thorns and Seeds of Yesterday. Wow…that’s been 20+ years of reading her fantastic books!
Today I’m back to tell you about an exciting new release:
Title: Sage’s Eyes
Author: V.C. Andrews
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Release Date: January 26th, 2016
Book Synopsis: Psychologically gripping & emotionally edgy, Sage’s Eyes ~ the new novel from bestselling author V.C. Andrews has a taboo story line and brooding atmosphere that will keep readers enthralled from the start.
Sixteen year old Sage is a lonely child, dreaming of hemlock and mysterious ancestors she knows nothing about. Her adoptive parents keep a close eye on her, studying her for warning signs of something. But Sage has to admit that even she can’t make sense of the strange things she sees and hears. She possesses knowledge that other teenager’s don’t, that neither her parents or teachers, no adult, possibly could.
When Sage finally makes a friend who understands her alarming gifts, he becomes her confidant, a precarious link to the truth about who she really is. For Sage and the alluring boy at school share many things in common. Perhaps, they’ll learn, far too many things.
My Thoughts: When I read the synopsis for this book I wasn’t sure if I could get into it. It’s unlike all of the other books that I’ve read by V.C. Andrews but after just a few chapters…I was hooked.
The story line on this one is a little different but I think that’s because it’s the first book in a new series. Like all of her books, they focus around a person or person(s) who have evil in their hearts or those who believe that evil is around them. With that said, every chapter with this book leads to a different twist and turn. This family has a whole lot of secrets that need to be revealed among the pages and trust me…the author does a great job at revealing them at just the right pace.
I’m about 3/4 of the way through the book and I still don’t have the entire story line or plot figured out. This is the exact type of book that I enjoy reading because if I had it all figured out early…well, I would get bored. This is a real page turner!
I don’t ever give up the endings to any plots in movies or books here on this blog. If you would like to learn more about Sage’s Eyes by V.C. Andrews or any of the other books by this suspenseful author, you can visit Simon and Schuster online.
