Movie Review – The Devil Wears Prada

January 26, 2016 by Shelly

The Devil Wears Prada - Movie DVDThe 10th anniversary edition of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway’s hilarious workplace comedy called “The Devil Wears Prada” arrived on blu-ray, dvd and digital download on January 12th, 2016. This film is rated PG-13.

The film is based on the hilarious best-selling novel (by the same name) and stars Oscar winners Meryl Streep as a fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly and Anne Hathaway as Andy, the young woman who lands a job “to die for” as Miranda’s assistant, a job that might in fact be the death of Andy!

The 10th anniversary edition of the DVD release includes special features:

Audio commentary with director David Frankel and others.
Deleted scenes with director and editor commentary.
Gag Reel
Trivia Track
Digital HD code included

My Thoughts: Can you believe that I’ve never seen this film before? I guess it’s because I’m not a huge fan of comedy but I do enjoy watching Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, so I decided to check out this movie. I’m glad that I did…because it’s super funny…from beginning to end!

As always…both actresses did a great job playing their parts. I seriously think these parts are made for Meryl and Anne! The chemistry between the two actresses is spot-on and they both light up the screen with their humor.

If you love a good comedy chic-flick…you’ll love this movie. I’m giving it 7 popcorn buckets out of 10 popcorn buckets on my rating scale. My husband though….LOVED the movie and gives it 9 popcorn buckets (comedy is his favorite genre of movies, so perhaps his rating is more appropriate than mine).

I have always enjoyed this movie. It is hard to believe that it was made so many years ago. The actors did such a good idea.

I can’t believe you haven’t seen it! 🙂 I’m glad you finally did and enjoyed it. I have to say – I really like this movie. I even bought it. I think the acting is amazing from Meryl Streep to all the side characters. I can’t believe it’s 10 though. Wow! I’ll have to pull it out for a movie night with my daughter.

I saw the movie and read the book. I thought Anne Hathaway was perfect as the assistant to Miranda Priestly(Meryl Streep). The book was based on the horrible memories that the author had working as an assistant to Anna Wintour, who is the editor in chief of Vogue magazine.

OK, I don’t know how I missed this when it first came out. I love Meryl Streep and have seen most of her movies. Will have to check it out.

I can’t believe it has already been ten years since this movie came out. I saw it when it first came out and thought it was really well done. I liked it because the actors were really good but I hated it because I used to work with someone like Meryl Streep’s character and it brought back a lot of bad memories for me. I would recommend it to others though as like I mentioned I thought it was really well done.
