Kid’s Craft Project Snowman Snowball Holiday Ornaments
It’s time for another Crafting with Kids feature here on the TwoClassyChics blog. I hope you all have been enjoying these regular features because I’ve got many more coming your way!
Today’s project is a quick and easy one that you can make with the kids. Due to the small parts…I would say that this project is for children ages 5 and over. They will need some adult supervision when making these.
If you’re making these with small children…I would recommend using all-purpose craft glue. If you’re making them with older children or just making them for yourself…you could use a low-temp hot glue gun. Don’t use super hot glue because it can melt the styrofoam ball.
Once they are done…let them sit overnight to make sure the glue dries thoroughly. They can be hung onto the Christmas tree as ornaments, used as package toppers, hung off peg hooks, etc.
Snowman Snowball Holiday Ornaments
1 1/2″ diameter styrofoam ball
Two 1″ diameter pom-poms (for ear muffs)
2 1/2″ long piece of a pipecleaner (for headband)
Two 1/4″ diameter wiggle eyes
1/2″ long piece of orange pipecleaner (nose)
1/2″ wide by 5″ long piece of red fleece or red ribbon (for scarf)
String for hanging
Black Marker
Scissors
All Purpose Craft Glue
Use the photo for placement of all items. Start by gluing the pipecleaner headband and the pom-pom ear muffs. Then glue on the eyes and nose and use the marker to make ‘coal’ dots for his mouth. Finally, glue on your ribbon for his scarf. Finish up by attaching a hanging string to the top of the ball. Let the dry overnight to allow the glue to firmly set up.
