Color Me Calm and Color Me Happy Adult Coloring Books
Finding ways to relax, especially with all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, can be challenging. I have been trying out the latest trend in relaxation—the adult coloring book. I decided to take a break from the holiday craziness and crack open a few of the latest coloring books from the international bestselling series, A Zen Coloring Book, now in a smaller, portable package. These books are the ideal size for travel and would make perfect stocking stuffers for just about anyone that wants to chill out and bring out their creative side.
The two coloring books that I received for review are new releases from A Zen Coloring Book–the Portable Color Me Happy book and the Portable Color Me Calm book, both authored by Lacy Mucklow and illustrated by Angela Porter. Each of these books contains beautifully detailed images that will simply draw you in and get you into that relaxation zone. My suggestion is to get a really nice set of colored pencils, a glass of wine (or hot tea if wine isn’t your thing) and some soft music in the background. Each book contains 70 coloring templates, which will keep you occupied for sure.
Here are the details on each of these great books:
Portable Color Me Calm – this book contains coloring templates for meditation and relaxation. It seems that many of us are getting busier and busier and taking less time out to “unplug” and decompress. This book was designed to help people slow down and feel calm. The templates are organized into six therapeutically themed chapters including Mandalas, Water Scenes, Geometric Patterns, Flora & Fauna, as well as others. Color Me Calm is ideal for stepping back from daily life and letting yourself unwind.
Portable Color Me Happy – the templates included in this book were designed to make people smile and take a break from the daily pressures of life. This book offers a simple and satisfying solution for busy adults who are looking to take some time out to reconnect with the lighter side of their lives. The templates are organized into six therapeutic themed chapters including Nature, Animals & Babies, Art & Architecture, as well as others that will help channel anxiety into joy. Color Me Happy is great for leaving the chaos and craziness of life behind and shift gears to feel happier and more cheerful.
Both books are currently available for around $13 on the Quarto Knows website. This is an affordable, creative and unique gift for friends, family and teachers. I think I will be getting one for each of my co-workers, as we are typically a slightly stressed out bunch!
