Last year I had the honor of participating in the #GivingTuesday campaign sponsored by World Vision and Thirty-One Gifts. I’m completely honored to have the opportunity to participate again this year. Both companies believe in giving back to the world and supporting worthy charitable campaigns around the world.
In the midst of the retail frenzy following Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday provides an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by focusing on charitable giving. On Dec. 1, 2015 – the 4th annual #GivingTuesday – World Vision will partner with Thirty-One Gifts to help charitable donations make twice the impact.
On #GivingTuesday, every donation made by phone (1-888-511-6588) or online (Worldvisiongifts.org) to World Vision will be matched by Thirty-One Gifts – a direct-selling company offering totes, purses and more – with a donation of one of their products, such as a tote bag or blanket, up to a total of $1MM worth of products for women and girls in need around the world.
Why the Need? Bags like the one featured above were recently distributed to volunteers in Burundi who use the totes to carry materials for educating families about malnutrition. Before receiving the totes, volunteers like Renathe Kabageni, pictured above, carried all of their materials and equipment by hand. The simple gift of these tote bags preserves teaching materials and makes it easier for volunteers to visit each home.
Products donated to World Vision on #GivingTuesday through this partnership will be shared with communities in need so that women like Renathe are able to continue the important education they are providing.
To help promote this campaign I received a Zip-Top Organizing Utility Tote to review for all of you. I have to admit up front, I’m a huge fan of the products offered by Thirty-One Gifts and own at least a dozen! All of their products are extremely well-made, very functional and super stylish! This Utility Tote is no exception! I love using it when I am running around for business meetings to tote all of my business gear & supplies. I also love using it when I travel…it’s a great bag for traveler’s too!

No I had not ever heard of GivingTuesday. It does sound like a good program though. I love that the bag is spacious. I believe it would be great for my daughter in law to carry her students work in.

We are donating jackets but I never heard of Giving Tuesday! LOL
Although I didn’t officially give on Tuesday, I did set up an appt to have an organization come later this month to pick up clothes & other items we’re no longer using. And I love this tote because Thirty-One products are made so well, and those outside pockets are great!

I wasn’t familiar with the Giving Tuesday project previously. I know Tuesday is also World Aids Day, and I usually wear a red ribbon in recognition of all those who have died from the disease.
I like the tote because it looks like it has a solid bottom, so when I set it down, everything won’t just fall to the middle of it. It looks sturdy which is another thing I look for in a tote.

I love the whole World Vision concept and really like how roomy this tote is. I haven’t seen too many things locally on Giving Tuesday so still may participate online.
