The summer of 2015 was a good one for us. Hubby and I spent a lot of time traveling! We visited the great states of Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and of course, Pennsylvania!
When we were down in Virginia Beach for a few days we had the opportunity to visit the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. We love visiting all kinds of different zoos, wildlife parks and aquariums. If it has animals and/or has something to do with nature…we are there!
This particular aquarium is really quite large and definitely one you should visit if you ever get the chance. We saw all kinds of different tropical fish, sand sharks, stingrays, crabs, lobsters, etc. You know, the kind of animals you will see living in the sea!
In addition to the aquarium they have dolphin watching, the National Geographic 3D theater and a Dinosaur Exhibit. If visiting, you will want to allow at least one full day there so that you can see and experience everything that they have to offer.
My photo for my “Almost” Wordless Wednesday post isn’t a fabulous photo but it’s decent. It’s really hard to photograph inside of aquariums due to the darkness and the camera flash bouncing off the glass. It’s a photo of some sand sharks that we got to see.
How many of you enjoy visiting aquariums? For those of you who love visiting them…do you have a favorite one? Tell me about it!

Your photo looks pretty good to me–makes me wish I could be there to see it for myself. I’ve never been to an aquarium (my ten-gallon tank with corydoras catfish doesn’t count, right?), but it’s something I think I’d love to visit if I ever get to an area with an aquarium. Living on a bay, I love the ocean and its creatures, and would enjoy the chance to get a close-up look at what’s below the waves.
We would enjoy visiting this aquarium as well as all,the others you have reviewed in the past few weeks. I think it would be great to travel as you did down the eastern coast and see all,the wonderful sites. The National Geographic 3 D theater sounds like a fun place too.
This looks wonderfully fun. My family loves aquariums, going to national parks, and local restaurants. It sounds like you had a great summer.
I barely remember the aquariums I visited as a kid. I’ve seen more pics of the one in Denver. where I used to live. I guess I like to see the animals and mammals more in their natural environment. Great place for the kids to learn about most of the sea creatures though.
I like your photo with all the different creatures in it. I do like visiting aquariums but haven’t been to many.
This is a beautiful photo! Im reluctant to visit aquariums because I worry about entrapping any kind of creature, but some aquariums do research while the creatures are there so those ones can be okay. We do have a really nice one here in Denver. It has a sting ray feeding pool!
Wow you guys really did some traveling this summer that is a lot of different states. I Love going to aquariums, zoos and animal parks. This one you shared sounds like a good one. There is something so relaxing about watching them swimming.
I’m very fortunate that besides this blog job…I have another PT job as a travel blogger which gives me the opportunity to travel and see some amazing places & things. Plus, my hubby travels for business meetings & stuff, so I sometimes tag along with him.
My Husband and I always enjoyed going to different Museums, zoos and aquariums. We haven’t gone to a lot of different ones maybe in about 6 states including Hawaii. But our favorite Aquarium so far is at Brookfield zoo. Its so big when you go underneath and visually see all the sea creatures like the were right next to you. We have been born and raised in the Chicago Land area. We have visited Brookfield many times in our life. Also absolutely love the Dolphin show they put on..
