My Thoughts: I have to admit…I don’t watch biblical movies too often, especially the older ones. With that said, I did sit down to watch this with my husband who originally watched the miniseries on TV and enjoyed it. This film starts off at the crucifixion and the resurrection and then follows the tale of the epic A.D. period that immediately follows it.  A time in our history when religion was really taking off, persecution was high and at times…people were very brutal with one another.

This is a 4-Disc Set that includes all 12 episodes plus includes special extra features that you didn’t see on TV when the miniseries was running. I love that it’s all broken down in chronological order so that you can sit down and watch it at your leisure.

The story lines in this movie are absolutely fantastic! Lot’s of drama and complexities to keep you entertained for hours. The actors & actresses who portrayed the characters did a really excellent job and played very compelling parts. Overall, I really enjoyed sitting down and watching the entire thing over 4 days with my husband. It’s definitely one of the better biblical stories that I’ve seen in many years!

The blu-ray and DVD are available now for purchase. I think it would make a great holiday gift for someone who enjoys biblical movies and religious stories in-general. I give it 8 popcorn buckets out of 10 on my entertainment rating scale.
