Frugal Finds: After Halloween Bargain Shopping

Frugal Finds and Hot DealsHow many of you love shopping for a bargain? Okay, I know almost all of you do! Well…I’m one of those bargain shoppers who likes to go out a week or so after a holiday to pick up some decorations & home decor pieces for the following the year.
Halloween Decorations
A week ago I headed to my local Big Lots store who had all of their leftover Halloween items marked down to 50% to 75% off. Yup, that’s what I call a bargain sale! I love to decorate for each of the holidays throughout the year, so I was all over their post Halloween sale!

Halloween Decorations

Here’s what I got:

Outdoor Purple Twinkling Bush Net Lights Sale $4.00 (not pictured)
Cobweb Placemats .50 cents each (got 2)
Gel Halloween Window Decals $1.00 per pack
Outdoor Hanging Bats Multi-Color Light String $3.00
Hanging Spooky Owl Window Decoration .75 cents
Wood Frankenstein Owl Yard Art Stake $3.00
Halloween Design Paper Plates .50 cents (not pictured)
Halloween Design Paper Cups .50 cents (not picture)

Halloween Decorations

I got all of the above for $13.75 when it was originally priced for $54.95 if I had bought it before Halloween! Wow…now that’s a deal and some great bargain shopping! They had a LOT of goodies leftover and if I would of had more cash on me…I would of picked up a few additional things.

Sure…Halloween is over with but it will be back again next year and I will have some new decorations to add to my stash. Every year and with every passing holiday…I like to hit up the stores and buy my holiday decor when it’s at bargain basement prices. How about you? Snag any good deals lately?

Oh, I love the day after Halloween (National Half-Priced Candy Day, lol!) The day after any holiday is always a great day for bargains!

  2. Halloween was on Saturday, and on Monday I went shopping to get some cheap candy. Unfortunately, all I could find was candy corn, but I did pick up some marked-down Lofthouse-style cookies. But when I was out looking for Halloween bargains, one of the stores I went to had their canning supplies for half price, so I picked up some jars and lids. Yay!

  3. I go after all Holidays and toock up. I dont much decorate for Halloween and Christmas is likely my favorite to get supplies . I get paper, tape, bads you name it. I also love getting the sale iteems for next years gofts or to donate. Toys for Tots covers teeens and its a great time to get perfumes, lotions and even teen boy things. I dont think unless I have to have it, I have ever shopped before the Holidays!

  4. I went to my local Fred Meyer and got decorations and costumes for next year for my grandkids at 75% off. I check after every Holiday and usually find some great buys.

  5. I used to shop the after-holiday sales when I had a basement but not much storage in a tiny apartment now. I found the best deals at the fabric and craft stores. I don’t think I’ll even be going out for Black Friday sales this year so I’m no fun at all. I have more than enough holiday decorations, so no worries.

  6. I like Big Lots for things like this. You can find excellent bargains after holidays at their store like you did.

Awesome scores! Good job! I love stocking up after the holidays too. Most of my décor has come from discounted or clearance shopping.

You found some great finds! I like to go to after holidays sales, too. A great way for me to get craft items and small things for my grandkids for the next year. I hadn’t thought about Big Lots, but I do like Target, Walgreens, and Michaels. Another thing I like is the clothing sales after the holidays. I will often get Children’s Place holiday shirts for the next year really reasonable.

I too like to go bargain hunting after any holiday. This year The bargains were not as good as in the past, but I was able to get a scarecrow for the yard and some candy.
