Halloween Family Traditions and Costumes

Outdoor Halloween Light-Up DecorationsHalloween is such a fun time of the year! There are Halloween parades, fall festivals, pumpkin picking, hayrides, haunted houses, ghost tours, costume parties and more! Now is the time to get outside and enjoy some fun family activities before the cold winter weather sets in.

Today I wanted to discuss Halloween here on The Classy Chics blog. So, I have a few questions for you and I am providing my own answers too!

Halloween Tiger Cat Costume for Kids

1.  What was your favorite costume that you ever wore for Trick-or-Treat night or to a Halloween party? (My favorite was a Wonder Woman costume that took me a month to make!).

2. What is your favorite type of candy to enjoy? I always loved finding peanut butter cups in my candy bag, I still do! Junior Mints and Milk Balls run a close second! YUMMY!

3. What is your favorite movie or television show to watch that has something to do with Halloween? I like many horror flicks as long as they don’t have witches or evil in them. So, I like watching cannibal, zombie and slasher type of movies to put me in the scary mood!

4. Do you have any Halloween family traditions? We always visit a local farm to go on a hayride, run through the corn maze and go pumpkin picking. The kids wear costumes which is really fun! We also get the kids together and go out on Trick-or-Treat night as a family and then afterwards…we stop and get ice cream from a local ice cream shop.

5. Do you enjoy visiting Haunted Houses? I do…as long as they are not too scary. While I like to be scared…I don’t want to have nightmares for the next 10 years! Plus, I don’t want any creepy men or women jumping out and touching me. Keep your hands to yourself please!

6. Do you decorate for the holiday? I do! I don’t go over-board but I do put out several decorations into the yard and on our front porches. Hubby puts out a few purple and orange twinkling lights onto our bushes near our front door. I do put up decorations on my front door and a few inside my house.

7. What’s your favorite thing about Halloween? I just enjoy getting together with family & friends and spending some fun time together. It’s all about being with them…seeing them laugh & smile!

Halloween Costume for Baby Boys

The Princess went Trick-or-Treating in her new Tiger Cat Halloween Costume and our Little Prince went out for his first Trick-or-Treating experience dressed as Tigger. I think it’s great that big sister and baby brother had on similar Halloween costumes! Fun!!!

So…I would love it if you would take the time to answer a few of the questions I’ve asked and leave your comments below in the blog’s comment form. If you have any special traditions that you would like to share…please do that too! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

  1. I don’t know how I missed this post the other day guess I was in too much of a hurry so I will answer these now. Oh I also wanted to add that I love the cute costumes the little ones are wearing above. My favorite costume that I ever wore for Trick-or-Treat night was when I was cat woman. My favorite type of candy to enjoy is the mini almond joy bars. My favorite movie or television show to watch that has something to do with Halloween is The Great Pumpkin with Charlie Brown. Our Halloween family traditions is to decorate the house for the season. I don’t visit Haunted Houses anymore. My favorite thing about Halloween is seeing all the great costumes on everyone and the pets too.

  2. My favorite Halloween candy is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I like going to the Pumpkin Festival to pick out my pumpkins and go through the corn maze and take a hayride. My favorite costume is a Banana costume.

  3. I saw the kids’ costumes on Facebook and loved them! I was a cat one year, but I was working in a retirement home as a nurse’s aid and giving baths that night, so I had to have a lightweight costume. I had black tights and of course the cat whiskers and nose were the best part. The residents loved it.

  4. Jo-Ann Brightman says

Both your grandchildren look adorable in their costumes. We never had any traditions for Halloween, but the kids had different costumes and enjoyed it every year when they were young.

  5. Darling costumes for the kids. Milky ways are my all time favorites and it is hard for me not to eat the entire bag myself. I cant think of a favorite costume I had as a kid although I do remember going as a pumpkin one year.
