Sometimes it is hard to save money on the things you need and use often. Meat is the one thing that comes to mind. But when you do find a good deal, if you are like me, it is stock up time! Today for my frugal find, I am excited to share the savings at Target this week.
In my town, we have a Super Target that offers a full grocery store and for some reason, I always seem to find big savings on meats. It may be pure luck or timing, or the fact that maybe not many people here think about shopping for meat at Target. Regardless, my frugal find saved me some serious cash.
My first score was on the ground turkey. Slated to go out of code in a day, this was reduced by $2 a package bringing the cost to $2.99 for a 1.25 lb package. Great deal as that is rarely on sale. Grabbed 3 of those.
Next, I spied some boneless, skinless chicken thighs – my favorite cut, and those were $3 off per pack bringing that cost to $3.29 per 1.75 lb package. Not bad for around here. Grabbed 2 of those. I also threw in a package of chicken breast tenders at $2 off.
Then my biggest savings was a complete surprise. I had used a coupon from the Cartwheel app for 5% off of some pork chops. But when I got home the price had dropped considerably. I chose 2 packs of the thick center cut chops and one came in at $3 off – saving me more than 50% and the other package was $2 off – saving me about 35% including my cartwheel savings!
All of those savings on meat alone was about $19.50! Now that is what I call a frugal find! Yes!
Have you scored any great deals this week? Share some of yours!

I try to use sales and coupons , but do not always get great bargains. I was able to get a package of cookies for 49 cents and pork loin at $1.77 a pound At my supermarket. Target is not convenient for me for shopping.
I really wish we had a Target closer to us. It’s about an hour away. Still, if we are in Lexington, it’s worth the trip.
Well done! The nearest Target is about an hour from here, so I don’t get there very often. Too bad. As for my frugal find, I recently discovered that my local grocery store’s bakery markdowns are marked down again at about 3:00. Generally, the markdowns are 50% off the regular price, so if I can be there at 3:00, they’re marked down another 50%. And I’m going shopping tomorrow. Guess what time I’m planning to be at the grocery store? Score!
We have a super target near us and I find that I find some good deals there on meats but also on their fruits and vegetables. I always check their ads and see what coupons are available. I will also take a look at the ads for Halloween candy. Usually find some good deals and some there.
This sounds good but I can find meat at the Target near me.
I ave gotten quite a few meat bargains at Target. Its aamazing how many either dont notice or dont think of looking. Maybe they think it isnt any good which it still is. Meat is so expensive its surprising that it goes on sale at all.
I’m another person who doesn’t think of Target as a place to get good deals on groceries. Have to check them out.
I don’t eat too much meat but a while back I did use some coupons to get a meat sub (Beyond Meat) totally free at Target. They were one of a few places where I could find that brand and Target is so close to me. Yes, I scored a 12 oz bag of Tootsie Rolls today for 9 cents! I had a $5 off $5 candy purchase at Staples but couldn’t find it in the store today, so ordered it online and I can pick it up free at the store in a few days! I’m sending it to my dad in a package so that worked out. Love Target and Staples for real deals!
Now this is what I call a score! I keep forgetting that Target sells food now. I am going to have to get in there and check out these deals as meat in the local supermarkets is way too expensive these days. Thank you for posting money savings posts like this one I really do enjoy reading them and I always learn something new.
