Fall Hayrides and a Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

October 13, 2015 by Shelly

Enjoying Fall HayridesHow many of you love the Autumn season? When it rolls around each season…do you get outdoors and enjoy any family activities? Fall is my second favorite season of the year! I love the cooler, crisp air and I love seeing all of the leaves change into beautiful colors up here in the northeast.

During the Fall season my family loves to get together for various family-time days. Already this season we’ve been out three times to enjoy some seasonal festivities!

The Pumpkin Patch 2015

Yesterday we spent some time playing at a local farm here in Pennsylvania. We went on a family hayride that was pulled by a tractor, played on some hay bales, fed some baby cows, goats, pigs and sheep, went through a corn maze and then finished up by picking our own pumpkins!

Once we were done with all of those activities we sat down and enjoyed a nice family dinner together. This coming weekend the family is getting together again to do their annual pumpkin carving which should be fun!

So…do you have any fun family activities planned for Fall? Do you enjoy hayrides, corn mazes and the pumpkin patch? Let me know you thoughts and enjoy BOTH of my “Almost” Wordless Wednesday photos for this week!

I enjoyed the hayrides and marshmallow roasts when I was a kid. We grew up in the country so there were plenty of farms like that in Ohio. Wishing for that crisp fall air right about now since it’s been so hot. I’ll have to enjoy your pics of the cooler temps for now.

LOVE marshmallow roasts Deb! Around here we do S’mores roasts and bobbing for apples. That’s on the agenda for this coming weekend! We also go to 2-3 costume parties during the season too. My husband almost always dresses up as one of the characters from Star Wars. He’s very predictable! LOL

I haven’t been to a pumpkin patch in a long time. It looks like fun, especially if you can go with little kids!

Going to a farm like this is so much fun. We used to go when our kids were young and enjoyed the picking, the mazes, sometimes even a spooky museum.

I love going to these kinds of farms this time of year. We also love to support local farmers and like to purchase our pumpkins from them. I can’t remember if I have ever been through a corn maze but that sounds like a lot of fun even for the adults. We like to decorate our house for the Fall season.

We used to go to the pumpkin patch when my daughter was litttle, and she always got such a kick out of picking out her own pumpkin. She has 3 little ones of her own now, and probably takes them to her local pumpkin patch in Kansas. Sadly, due to circumstances, what’s left of the family here in NY has no special things planned for this season, due to ill health. But I enjoy your pictures!

Went to the Pumpkin Festival on Saturday. Corn maze, hayrides and pick your own pumpkins. I got a neat pumpkin with green warts.

Great photos and family time. My daughter and I met up with a friend of mine from work this last weekend and went to the pumpkin patch. My daughter took photos of her grandkids there. It was a great time with pumpkin choosing, kitty playing, and hay bale jumping. Glad you are enjoying the season, too.

Sherry…it’s a family tradition! We’ve been doing it since our daughter was little and now continuing with the tradition with our grandchildren! We did the hayride, corn maze, pumpkin patch, farm animal feeding & petting, hay bale climbing, etc. LOVE this time of the year!
