A kitchen trash can. It’s something we all need and something that we all use. Usually when I need a new one…I head to the local department or discount store and pick up an ugly plastic can for a few bucks. Those cans don’t last long and they sure in heck don’t look nice either.
Well, that all recently changed for me when I received the 50 litre Semi-Round Step Can from SimpleHuman. This kitchen trash can is the best one that I’ve ever owned and trust me, I will never go back to the $5.00 plastic, ugly trash can again!

* Slide Lock – The sliding lid lock keeps pets and children out!
* Stay Open Lid – The lid will stay open as long as you would like. I love this feature because I do a lot of home canning & will often peel fruits & veggies while standing over the trash can.
* Large Capacity – Take out the trash less often because it’s a 50 liter can!
* Wall Bumper – There is a wall bumper on the back which keeps the lid from hitting the wall every time you open it.
* 5 Year Warranty – Yes, you read that right…a 5 year warranty!
* Custom Fit Liners – The step can uses the size P Custom Fit Liners from SimpleHuman. These liners feature double-seams, are extra-thick and designed to not slip, rip or tear.
Wow…I will never think about a kitchen trash can the same way again. All of these years I’ve been struggling with a can that wasn’t meeting my family’s needs. This one is loaded with features that in my honest opinion, makes it the best kitchen trash can out in the marketplace.
One of the things I absolutely love about it is the steel foot pedal. With it being canning season and having a new 3 week old baby in the house…I need to be hands-free when I am dealing with the kitchen trash. That steel foot pedal opens the lid smoothly & quietly.
I don’t know about all of you…but I was definitely tired of dealing with a kitchen trash can that simply didn’t work and definitely looked ugly. My favorite features are the large see, the steel pedal, the all bumper and the 5 year warranty. This looks like a great kitchen can.

I agree a foot pedal is a really nice feature especially when you are carrying a baby. Taking the trash out less is certainly a plus.
I like that it has a flat back that goes up against the wall. Good functioning trash can.
Good size and great color. I hadn’t really thought about it but trash cans are ugly. We buy those plain ones but, even if out of sight, everyone has to throw things away. It’s nice to have a quiet one that works well, fun color, and is built to last.
This is everything I need in a trash can. Big, nice and light, and with a cover. The one we have now in the kitchen is really a cheapo one meant for a bathroom wastebasket. I LOVE the locking lid!
