Get Your Nails Ready for Back to School

I’m not a “girly-girl” when it comes to most things, whether it is regarding my fashion, makeup, or other beauty products, etc. I’m mostly a “tomboy” where I really don’t behave particularly feminine. Although, on occasion, there have been many times in my life where I get in touch with my feminine side. As a child, although rarely, I would raid my mother’s dresser for her clothing, makeup, earrings, and other beauty products for dress-up. I enjoy getting dolled up even though it hardly ever happens, but it makes the special occasion more special to me. The items I used and tried the most from my mother’s room was her nail polishes. She’s always had so many and each so different in type! This is why I was thrilled to find that I was sent a whopping TEN nail polishes from SinfulColors for review!

I was sent the ten gorgeous colors, just a partial selection of their Back to School line, A Class Act. Clever!

Getting back to school whether it is high school, college, or even getting back to work after a nice vacation always made me want a little bit of change. Bringing something fresh and new with me has kept up my sense of uniqueness. New clothes or a new colored nailpolish can make someone feel brand new! I’ve always been the type that I love all kinds of colored nail polish. I do have a tendency to prefer a matte finish or just as long as it’s a solid color.

Most of the polishes I was sent are the matte or demi-matte, but I am very glad that I was sent a few that were a little bit more ‘out there’ in the ‘bling and flashy’ sense. It somewhat got me out of my comfort zone, but they ended up being gorgeous!

I was sent the following colors: Blue Sensation, Ice Dream, Blackboard, Whiteboard, RADient, 24/7, Energetic Red, Daredevil, VIPeach, and Truth or Lavendare.

Blue Sensation: Lustrous silvery sky blue

Ice Dream: Cerulean glitter with a translucent silver base

I loved the swirled look of the grayish tint with the blue, almost pearlescent. Ice was nice because it was clear but it had the blue, white, silver glitter. It is wonderful by itself but perfect as a topcoat for similar toned colors. It went gloriously well with the Blue Sensation. I really enjoyed these because my favorite colors are in the blue palette group. I realized that glitter was great for going on a night out as well as looking chic the next morning for class.

Blackboard: Demi-matte chalkboard black

Whiteboard: Chalk white

They were so clean and crisp, Whiteboard was so bright, they both match with everything of course. They seem very classic fashionista.

RADient: Vibrant raspberry with a demi-matte finish

24/7: Their hottest pink

Energetic Red: Classic fire engine red

Daredevil: A pop of neon pink

These colors are similar, yet fabulously different. All are in pink/red color group, but they’re distinctive in their tones. These colors are completely BOLD! The greatest thing is that they work with everything.

VIPeach: Soft touch pastel yellow

Truth or Lavendare: A demi-matte creamy lavender

These colors are beautifully soft. Paired together, they reminded me more of Easter colors. But it’s mostly because their pastel-like, matte finished colors just work together so well.

I’ve enjoyed using SinfulColors nail polishes; I’ve had them on for a few days. Since I work with my hands constantly, I am surprised they have lasted as long as they have.

My lovely niece assisted me by trying our some colors herself. She is a pro, it seems like she’s been painting nails all her life! She is starting school herself in just a short amount a time, and she also loves the colors sent. She can’t wait to hit the books with fun new shades!

They do have some great shades! I like blackboard & whiteboard. You could do both, one on every other nail.

  3. This is a nice set of colors. I like the ones in the pink/red color group, they are shades that I would wear. Thank you for sharing this review.
