Simple Sausage and Spinach Quiche Recipe

We eat a lot of eggs in this house. They are so versatile and easy to prepare. They really make meal time quick, especially when people are coming and going at different times. I wish I could say we have a set dinner time, but the son works evenings and it depends on his schedule. So finding recipes that can hold or be made quickly is always something I do.

This week we tried out a new recipe for quiche. It has been years since I made one and had forgotten just how easy they really are to whip up. This one was sausage, spinach, and cheese and it came out so good! You should give it a try.

Simple Sausage and Spinach Quiche Recipe

Ingredients:
1 refrigerated pie crust
6 eggs, beaten
1.5 lbs Breakfast or Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
1.5 cups heavy cream
1 cup Shredded Havarti
1 cup Shredded Swiss
1 package frozen Spinach, defrosted and squeezed dry
1/8 tsp pepper

Directions:
In a deep pie dish, lay out the pie crust and press into the pan, smoothing it around. Beat the eggs in a medium bowl. Add your heavy cream, pepper, sausage, spinach, and cheese. Mix together and then slowly pour the mixture into the pie dish. Bake at 375 for about an hour or until a knife comes out clean. Let stand for a few minutes before slicing.

* Note: I opted out of using salt in the dish as there is salt in the sausage and cheese. But you can add in 1/8 tsp if you choose.
