For the past 5 years I’ve been buying and/or reviewing various educational toys & games from the company called Learning Resources. This company has been one of my go-to sources for quality made toys that enrich the mind and provide hours upon hours of play-time enjoyment.
When you shop at Learning Resources you will find activity sets & books, construction sets, active learning & play sets, discovery & exploration sets, electronic toys, games, puzzles, water & sand toys and a whole lot more! Everything on their site is extremely well-made and affordable.
Two years ago I reviewed the Gears! Gears! Gears! Building Set and the Princess still enjoys playing with that set. I invite you to read my original review to familiarize yourself with that particular set.
For this review I was asked to review a companion set called the Gears! Gears! Gears! Pet Playland Building Set from Learning Resources and I jumped at that chance. This particular set is for kids age 4 and up and contains 83 pieces.
Once assembled…the entire set will spin with the turn of a handle and helps children with their critical thinking, creativity and cause & effect skills.
The Pet Playland Set is like an amusement park for pets! It comes with 4 different interchangeable pets that are easy to grip & perfectly sized for little hands. The pets can ride the plane, teacup and ferris wheel to create a very magical little playland. This set works back to other Gears! Gears! Gears! Building Sets.
The Princess is 6 years old and can build this set all on her own. She will sit and play with this building set for hours at a time. I love that it comes in a compact storage box and we can take it with us when we travel or take it outside for her to play with when we are setting out on the porch or deck.
While little boys can certainly play with this set…I love that it’s geared towards little girls because way too many building sets are strictly for boys. This set works well for both!
We absolutely love this building set! It would make a great birthday gift, just because gift or pick it up now & put it back for the holidays!
